Africa's Business to Business Marketplace

About us

Dooka’s vision is for businesses throughout Africa to use Africa’s digital marketplace for their purchases. The way companies buy products and services is changing fast, accelerated by the realization, borne from the Coronavirus pandemic, that the status quo had to change. Paper and old-fashioned processes are out. Digital is in. A new way is urgently needed, and it needs to be flexible, it needs to be intuitive, and it needs to be digital. One of the big winners of recent changes was marketplaces (e.g. Takealot, Jumia and Amazon) as people moved to the convenience of online shopping. Finally, large enterprises are joining this trend and have access to marketplaces. Dooka is providing Africa’s first B2B marketplace for large enterprises. Dooka is a business-to-business marketplace designed for and targeted specifically at the African continent. This marketplace provides an intuitive “shopping” style user interface for businesses to buy goods and pair this with the corporate controls needed by large enterprise. Dooka's technical partner is Tradeshift - a global procurement platform used by some of the world’s largest multinational enterprises like Unilever and DHL. This platform has facilitated a trillion dollars’ worth of transactions since its inception in 2010. This technological difference means that large businesses can use the Dooka Marketplace for their indirect spend. In contrast, those companies would not be able to use other marketplaces built for SMEs and lack procurement discipline and integration. Dooka enables African businesses to use the most advanced digital procurement technologies at a very low cost to quickly reach a maturity level more advanced than other countries. This is a “leapfrog” moment.
