Over the summer, the Overseas Staff Network held a cultural day to mark the end of #SouthAsianHeritageMonth. Staff, their families and friends sang, danced and celebrated the fusion of traditional heritage and modern influences, before enjoying a delicious curry 😋 . A big thank you to the network chairs for organising and giving their colleagues an opportunity to connect outside of the busy work environment. #TeamDCH

We are delighted to have received positive feedback from patients about the standard of care they received at our hospital. We are always working to continue to shape and improve our services and the overall experience we provide. The latest Adult Inpatient Survey asked for feedback on our patients’ journeys from admission to hospital, treatment and discharge. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3WVrBF3

We were delighted to welcome back former Trust Chair Mark Addison to officially open our meadow and new seating area. The wildflower meadow is located behind the Robert White Centre and is called 'Mark’s Meadow' in recognition of Mark establishing it. Now, thanks to funding from DCH Charity, staff, patients and visitors can enjoy sitting in a peaceful, calming setting surrounded by nature. The meadow improvements are part of wider plans to transform the green spaces and courtyards across the hospital site.

We are delighted to have opened a new dedicated unit for people having orthopaedic surgery. Existing ward space has been transformed into the new Ridgeway Elective Orthopaedic Unit which includes its own admissions lounge and therapy suite to support patients with their recovery. Funded by NHS England, the new unit will allow people to be admitted for their orthopaedic surgery more quickly, and also enable patients to go home sooner to continue their recovery. Thank you to construction lead LST Projects for carrying out the work. Read more: https://bit.ly/3yAdf4P
