Over 60 guests from tourism and hospitality businesses and organisations across the district attended a White Cliffs Country tourism industry event in Deal today to hear about new initiatives and support available. Cllr Jamie Pout, Deputy Leader of DDC, welcomed everyone and guests heard about a range of major projects, investments and tourism initiatives in the district. Speakers included representatives from DDC, the Astor Theatre, Prince’s Golf Club, Kent and Medway Business Fund and Visit Kent. The Astor Theatre hosted the event and the Museum of the Moving Image also took some attendees on a tour of the museum. #tourism #kent #networking #hospitality #support #majorprojects #smallbusinesses

NEWS: Kent and Medway Violence Reduction Unit and DDC have teamed up to roll out a Safe Spaces scheme across the district. Anyone feeling unsafe or vulnerable can seek refuge in one of the district's ‘safe spaces’. This includes shops such as Co-op in Deal, Sandwich and Aylesham, a community hub and library.
