The Houthis have conducted around 150 attacks on ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since October 2023, in response to the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict. While the group claims to focus on vessels connected to Israel, the available information reveals more indiscriminate targeting. These attacks are likely to continue in the coming months, driven by the group’s alignment with Iran as a strategic military proxy. Our latest data visualisation offers insights into Houthi activity in the Red Sea, detailing attack locations, frequency, and ship type targeted. It offers an interactive mapping of attack locations, weekly trends in ship transits through key passages and primary shipping paths. This tool aids clients in tracking emerging threats to Red Sea shipping. Clients can explore these insights on our SIAS platform — contact us for access: https://lnkd.in/eT-CAcAJ #Redsea #Houthi #shipping #geopolitics #securityintelligence
