  • 📢 The Drax purpose is Enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future, and delivering on this purpose means that we work in an environment of significant transformation and growth. We've created a centralised Project Management Office (PMO) function to support the controlled delivery of the Drax Group project portfolio. We're looking for a Project Manager to join this function! 🔗 Link in the comments. 🗨 Barry Campbell, Head of Central PMO, tells us about his team and who he's looking for 👇 #TogetherWeMakeItHappen #Careers

  • We’re delighted to share the latest chapter in our video series about our operations - chapter 3 is all about #biomass handling and generating power. 🌿 ⚡ Drax Power Station was once the largest coal-fired power station in Western Europe. It now has four 660 megawatt units running on sustainably sourced, renewable biomass, which generate power for millions of homes across the UK. This history of careful experimentation and innovative problem solving have made Drax a leading biomass power operator. 💡 Find out more in the full video below. #DraxBECCSprocess 📺

  • 🗞️ World Economic Forum have published their new report about artificial intelligence’s energy paradox #WEF25. Key takeaways include... 👇 📈 Increasing data centre demand requires the growth of reliable, dispatchable energy sources. ☀️ While intermittent renewables like wind and solar are sustainable, we need sources that can fill the gap when the wind isn’t blowing and the sun isn’t shining. 💡 Relevant alternatives include #bioenergy paired with carbon capture and storage, as well as nuclear, geothermal, and long-duration storage. • Chapter 2 in our six-part video series all about our operations is now live - this episode explores our supply chain. We’re always working to optimise our supply chain and to make it as energy efficient and low-carbon as possible. 🌿 Some quick facts about our biomass supply chain include... 👇 🚢 While shipping offers the least carbon intensive means of transporting sustainable #biomass, we’re always looking at ways to decarbonise our supply chain further. For example, as members of the Smart Green Shipping Alliance, we’re exploring innovations like wind-assisted shipping. 🛤️ Using rail rather than road to transport biomass pellets to Drax Power Station saves around 270,000 truck journeys and more than 32,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. • Chapter 1 in our video-series about the end-to-end bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (#BECCS) process is all about fibre sourcing and pelletisation. 🌿 Forests are an essential resource that will help us build a sustainable future. At Drax, we recognise that we’re a small but important part of the forestry industry, which is why we’re constantly working to ensure what we do is positive for people, for nature and for the climate. #DraxBECCSprocess 🌍 🌲 Watch more via the link in comments. 👇
