The only way hospices will survive in the long term is if there is national policy change which recognises the contribution we make. Hospice care is not a “nice to have” service, it is essential. Every year, our Hospice Shops contribute hugely to our funding, but it's not enough. Show your support for our Hospice this week by sharing this post to highlight the funding we need. #HospiceCareWeek #SupportHospices

Every item bought in our Hospice shops and Furniture Hub contributes to the care and comfort of patients like Hilary. Hilary was cared for by our Hospice Team, after being admitted on May 2nd 2023. Hilary passed away peacefully on May 9th, at just 64-years-old, surrounded by her family and friends. Since then, Hilary's husband, Lawrence has volunteered for our Furniture Hub and even danced at this year's Strictly event, raising money for our Hospice. Your support helps us continue offering compassionate, high-quality care for those who need it most. #HospiceCareWeek #CareThroughCommerce #HospiceShopHeroes

#ThankYouThursday 💜 Well done to Sammy, who earlier this week, took part in a Half Marathon in Perth, Western Australia! Sammy, who's father was cared for at the Hospice, has so far raised £492.44 including Gift Aid! Crane Payment Innovations gave up their time once again to come in and help clean and arrange the collection buckets and pots. You did an amazing job and we love having you! Quantum Profile Systems Ltd (QPSL) undertook the Ullswater Challenge last month. Glenn visited today and met some of the 34 staff who took part in the 20 mile hike, raising a whopping, £4,490 including gift aid. A fabulous team effort, well done! If you or your business would like to speak to us regarding team building activities, we can help you plan it. Call the fundraising team on 0161 624 9984.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and this year's theme is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities. Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, but today gives us all the opportunity to show our support for better mental health and focus on looking after our own wellbeing. Here at Dr Kershaw’s, we prioritise our teams mental health and wellbeing, through a range of support such as: our new Able Futures offer, staff wellbeing resources pack, organised wellbeing weeks, free complementary therapies, access to our counselling services, trained Mental Health First Aiders, discounted health food from our Café, invitations to our regular Reflection Rounds and so much more.
