When you a small business having some great publicity really matters. We were asked via the Wells Food Festival if we would like to be submitted to Somerset Life Magazine on the Gold TASTE OF THE WEST LIMITED award winners. Wow I picked up a copy this week and we have a full page spread. This wonderful photo was taken by Aisling ( Ash-ling ) Magill. It’s looks stunning. Dryad Gin was founded by Becky Wright inspired by the Quantock Hills and her mother’s legacy of bring people together. Her first gin, launched with a pop up pub, has become a regular event bringing the community together where a pub closes or doesn’t exist. I will be speaking with Family Adventures Group which was founded in 2019 by Tom Filer and his wife Laura when they became parents and saw a gap in the market for high quality, fun, educational, clean indoor play venues. They have seen exceptional growth since launching, now with 3 leisure venues and 7 day nurseries. It’s free to attend. As we packed up our Pop up Pub on Saturday evening we heard the hoot of an owl very close by almost watching us work. The Native American Navajo believe owl and coyote hold the balance of day and night. We had all experienced a very magical evening. We blessed the new Gin and celebrated our two year anniversary. We had much laughter throughout the evening as Jon and his team from The Quantock Landscape Partnership Scheme invited guests to have their photos taken in a Quantock themed Photo Booth to take home memories of the evening. We served up nearly 50 cocktails with some of our new magical range using homemade syrups and Dryad Gin. Seeing the photos from the event for the first time I can see folk coming together, sharing stories and enjoying a collective experience of The Dryad Inn. This week I will be posting some of those very special memories for you to enjoy. I have always felt that Owls are the guardians of the night, the keepers of sacred knowledge and remind me to trust in the unknown. Our two year celebrations went so well on Saturday night, it was a packed village hall full of friends and customers who have supported our two year journey. So may people have been part of this journey. We always love to welcome Bee Higgins and her family. She is a woman who has had such an important part in this chapter.

Saturday will see two years since we launched Dryad Gin. Wow what a journey. I love this video as you see clips from our launch of the gin. You also see my lovely recipe still. We are still a small batch of gin the latest being just 100 bottles. It’s the love the laughter and the creativity 🙌 You can also see me throwing the angels share to my dear departed mum who always get the share from each batch. This weekend we launch our Christmas spiced gin. I’m so pleased with this blend using pine needles. We will have it for sale on our website soon but for now you will just have to come to our pop up on Saturday to buy some. We will be joined by The Quantocks Landscape Partnership Scheme who will be hosting a Quantock themed photo booth with Quantock-themed props and backdrop. There is a ceremony held before opening to honour The Autumnal Equinox. It represents the second of the harvest festivals. We open the doors at 7pm. Over 18s only. The Dryad Inn is a travelling community public house of no fixed abode. Big thank you to my fellow team of volunteers who worked to make the B Corp UK Louder Thank Words Conference such a huge success. After three days I’ve returned back with my B Corp mindset firmly in place. I was so impressed with the work of Caroline Noel Neil Griffiths and Phoebe who kept us all motivated and on task. It’s always so lovely to spend time with like minds, many which are happy to go against the grain of how most people do business. You can often feel like a lone voice. Loved seeing Dryad Gin mentioned on the big screen thank you 🙏 for this. Thank you to my fellow volunteers who were such a joy to be around. We also managed a small Dryad Gin Party 🥳 nice one. I met Tom Brickman from Ticket Tayor who we have been using for all our Dryad Gin events and had a chance to sit in on just one workshop where I learnt about PANGAIA and their journey to make a 100% denim garment which is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. I only got to see one Plenary but could have listened all day to Patrick Grant talking about Less, Better and Local.
