We had our busiest ever Dryad Inn (The pub of no fixed abode) last night. The community of Ash Priors turned out in very very large numbers. We catered for 70 and they ate all the pizzas from Fiamma wood fired pizza. They drank all our Cottage Beer Project beer apart from some stout and we got through around 5 litres of Dryad Gin 🙌 Thank you to this wonderful community we were very touched by all their lovely comments. We aim to bring communities together where there has never been a pub or where the pub has closed. Dryad Gin Takes Home A Great Taste Award from The Guild of Fine Food for the second year running🏆 We are beyond thrilled to announce that Dryad Gin London Dry Gin has been awarded the prestigious Great Taste “simply delicious” award! 🌟 Great Taste is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. 13,672 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process; and Dryad Gin recieved Competing against nearly 13,700 entries, our gin along with 3,938 products were awarded a Great Taste 1-star – ‘food and drink that delivers fantastic flavour.’ Judges feedback “The judges were impressed with the pleasing, balanced nose of floral-earthy botanicals in this gin; evident orange peel provides a welcome roundness.” “Lovely aromatic notes with the juniper present. The judges felt that the alcohol was balanced. if a little hot. We really enjoyed the cardamom, which was balanced and beautifully fragrant.” “An intriguing and quietly understated nose of moss and forest floor characteristics with hints of menthol. Smooth and elegant, reasonably full-bodied with a blanched almond milkiness and the punch of pink peppercorn. There is a woody note mid-palate leading to a gently spiced, cardamom finish” Not sure about the hints of menthol or pink peppercorns in the last bit of feedback 😉 This year, judging took place over 92 days in Dorset and London, with a panel of more than 500 judges putting the products to the test. Press Release 29th July 2024 The Dryad Inn Pop Up Pub helping other villages start their own Pop-Up Pub. In July 2022 Dryad Gin opened The Dryad Inn at Broomfield Village hall after a use it or lose it plea from the Village Hall Committee. The pop-up pub has now been held 14 times and attracts many local people who do not live near a pub. In March they held an event at Corfe Village Hall which was an instant hit, they even got the villagers to name a dedicated cocktail now known as a Corfe Blimey. The Dryad Inn is our travelling community public house of no fixed abode we bring local communities together where the pub has been lost or where the community is isolated. Armed with fairy lights, toadstools, and playful Dryad Gin spirit, they transform village halls into mystical pop-up pubs, bringing fine folk together for old and new connections. Corfe’s pub closed in 2021. The local people so loved the Dryad Inn they decided to start one of their own. On 3rd August at Corfe Village Hall their new pop-up pub will be born called Corfe Pop-Up Pub. Joined by local pizza and beer sellers they will be putting on a night to bring the local community together again. Some of you know we run a Pop Up Pub where a rural community have lost their pub or never had one. These are wonderful events where new connections can be made and old friends remeet. Without their unwavering help and encouragement, our small batch gin would not have come this far. From running pop up pubs to promoting our gin to their networks, they have been instrumental in our success. It has been a challenging journey, but with their support, we have persevered and continued to deliver top quality gin to our customers. The UK gin market is fiercely competitive, but with a team like ours, we have managed to stay small, sustainable, and true to our values. I am truly blessed to have such amazing individuals around me, and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and dedication.
