Will Grid Constraints Force Data Centres to Rethink Their Power Strategy? Right now, data centres rely heavily on the national grid, with HVO / diesel backup generators in place for emergencies. But as energy demand rises and grid capacity tightens, will this approach still be viable in the future? In this article, John Kinstrie, Energy Solutions Director explores the potential for data centres to adopt new power strategies—such as on-site gas generation and island mode operation—to ensure resilience in a more constrained energy landscape. While this is not yet the industry norm, could it become a necessity as grid availability for data centres becomes more uncertain? https://lnkd.in/eHFCF3p7 To learn more about how this power strategy could support your data centre, join us for our panel session at Data Centre World London on 12th March 2025 at 4:25pm #datacentreworld2025 #datacentre #datacentrefuture #energyresilience
