Work is progressing well on lowering the carbon footprint of our hotels 🌱 Following a £6.4 million investment to cut the group’s overall carbon emissions by 25%, over £5 million of this has been dedicated to our UK operations. Low carbon works have completed in Birmingham, Glasgow, Ipswich, Liverpool, Milton Keynes and Sheffield. These include air-source heat pumps and solar panels. Starting the new month with a new signing for easyHotel Geneva Airport Ferney-Voltaire. Scheduled to open in early 2027, the new hotel will feature 141 compact, low-carbon rooms and is located in the Geneva region, across the border in Ferney-Voltaire, France. To help finance the project, we have secured our third consecutive loan from BRED, of €8.6 million. This hotel will be our fifth location in France and sixth in the Switzerland region. Located by Geneva Airport, it also our second hotel close to an airport after Paris Charles de Gaulle. easyHotel CEO Karim Malak says: “The new opening in Geneva is particularly exciting for us, as it not only strengthens our presence in a key international hub, but it builds upon our solid brand awareness with easyJet one of the leading airlines operating from Geneva."
