Next Steps in St Helens & Earlestown’s transformation Big progress is underway as we continue working with our partners to bring new life to town centres in St Helens and Earlestown. This week, key milestones have been reached: 👉 St Helens – We’ve activated a contract with VINCI Building UK to move ahead with the demolition of the Hardshaw Centre, clearing the way for a new Market Hall, a Hampton Inn by Hilton, new homes and modern retail space, along with high quality sustainable public spaces. 👉 Transport Links – From March 2025, work begins around St Helens Bus Station to prepare for the new St Helens Transport Interchange. With funding from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and the Towns Fund, this will improve connections, walking & cycling routes, and create a greener, future-proofed hub. 👉 Earlestown Town Hall – The restoration of the historic Earlestown Town Hall is progressing with HH Smith & Sons Co Ltd, who are set to begin internal works soon. Supported by funding from the Levelling Up Fund, the transformation will create new community, office, and leisure spaces, reviving this much-loved venue.
