So happy to be collaborating with Acubed.IT on areas of advanced cryptography (including Post Quantum Cryptography, Attribute-Based Encryption and Homomorphic Encryption) and cybersecurity-focused AI. Today, we had our kick-off meeting in #Edinburgh on a new Innovate UK 2.5-year KTP project.
At our core is making an impact with our research and innovation. We have a passion to change things and bring benefits to our society. So, did you know that in REF 2021, we scored a perfect four stars - outstanding impact in terms of their reach and significance - for all four of our submitted impact case studies in Computer Science and Informatics (CSI)? And that only seven universities in the UK received this perfect score within CSI (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Southampton, Birmingham, Imperial College, Queen Mary UoL, and ourselves). Two of our impact case studies focused on our four amazing cybersecurity spin-outs (Zonefox, Symphonic, Cyacomb and MemCrypt), and these were all supported by Scottish Enterprise and their High Growth Spin-out Programme (HGSP): https://lnkd.in/eTveR_3u And, we have another two cybersecurity spin-outs on the way, too.

Here is a new paper from our Professor of Software Engineering - Ashkan Sami - on “Reputation Gaming in Stack Overflow,” and published in the ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology (TOSEM). It focuses on the new reputation gaming algorithms for Stack Overflow, and tackles the critical issue of fraud and gaming in Stack Overflow's reputation system.
