This week saw the launch of Global EdTech Testbed Network (GETN) UK, where a diverse mix of school group leaders, founders, researchers and government came together to share their candid experiences around EdTech effectiveness. I've worked in this sector for 18 years now, and you hear a lot about the distrust and disconnect between different stakeholders. Yet, when you speak to people on a personal level, the intentions are good; it often boils down to a lack of understanding or misalignment between the impact goals that people are trying to achieve. The GETN gatherings aim to break down these silos through the power of community, inviting attendees to see things from the other side, to align around common problems, and to co-create systemic solutions together. I've been part of four GETN events now - even helping to launch GETN Asia last month - but this week's event was the most personal. Of course we couldn't get every voice in the room (you try your best with these things but timings and logistics make it difficult). What we did achieve was the activation of a passionate community that will no doubt go on to do great things. The acorns have now been scattered. For those that attended, the session report and outputs are being compiled, and we will circulate them shortly.
