  • There are six main groups of data you can collect to learn more about your subscribers, how much data do you have available to segment, personalise and trigger automated campaigns for your company? 1. Known Data This is data collected directly from asking the subscriber, including details such as date of birth, address, company size and their preferences, for example demographic and interest data. 2. Behavioural Data Tracking subscriber behaviour on your website and with your email campaigns (and other marketing channels where connected), can tell you a wealth of information about what your prospect needs RIGHT NOW; products they browse, blog posts they read, videos they watch and any other actions they take on your website; these will all tell you what they are actively looking for. 3. Purchase Data This will include information such as what, when and how many times they've purchased from you previously. 4. Contextual Data This includes information about what's happening for them right now, such as where are they (geographically), what device they are using to open their email, the current weather conditions or the time of day. 5. Cultural Data This is data that surrounds your wider information, such as connecting different products together, religious or cultural considerations, or knowing what type of products are most relevant to people in different geographic areas. 6. Qualitative Data This is all about your customers voice; consider NPS scores, customer surveys and feedback, social conversations and other ways of listening to your customers.
