🤩 We are delighted to open registration for our upcoming UK Forum - 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆. https://lnkd.in/euwn3Ch6 Our pervious events this year have all sold out, so please register for free now. No hidden membership fees, or costs... you even get a free lunch! 🥪 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 Drug discovery is rapidly moving beyond the traditional immortalised cell lines into advanced models that can better mimic and predict the complex physiological environment of the human body. Organoids and spheroids have the potential to revolutionise drug discovery and toxicology by offering more predictive, human-relevant insights. This forum brings together experts from academia, biotech, and pharma to explore the latest advancements in physiologically relevant cell models, and how they are being adopted in practical applications. The event will highlight developments in organoid, organ on a chip technology, automation, and high-throughput screening, with discussions on their applications in disease modelling and safety assessment. Join us at this one-day forum to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of integrating these advanced models into the drug development pipeline. Researchers from industry and academia will share real-world case studies on improving drug candidate selection, reducing late-stage failures, and enhancing the predictive power of preclinical testing. Bringing the life science and drug discovery communities together to learn, share, connect, innovate and collaborate.
About us
The European Laboratory Research and Innovation Group UK (ELRIG) is a not for profit company whose purpose is to bring the life science and drug discovery communities together to learn, share, connect, innovate and collaborate. We achieve this through the provision of world class conferences, networking events, webinars and digital content. Our values are to always ensure the highest quality of content and that content will be made readily accessible to all, and that we will always be an inclusive organisation, serving a diverse scientific community. In addition, ELRIG will always be a volunteer led organisation, run by the life sciences community, for the life sciences community, on a not for profit basis. ELRIG has evolved from the Laboratory Robotics Interest Groups set up in North America in the early 2000’s, and has become an independent commercial enterprise, with no major benefactors nor significant funding from a single source. Instead ELRIG depends on key partners to provide rent-free venues and the vendor community to purchase sponsorship opportunities at its events. ELRIG is unique in that it considers vendors to be very much part of the life science community and incorporates presentations on their innovations into its podium programming. Led by a board of volunteers, and run by a small team of employees, ELRIG successfully hosts at least 5 conferences and 5 networking events per year, which bring together world class speakers, that present the latest research and innovation from their laboratories. Events vary in size from 40 attendees at our tier 2 events (primarily networking or webinars), to 300 plus attendees at our tier 1 events (primarily 1 to 2 day conferences), to greater than 1500 attendees at our flag ship Drug Discovery meeting. All these events are run as free-to-attend, with speaker expenses and delegate subsistence paid for by ELRIG, which is only possible due to the support of its sponsors.

Our community, the drug discovery community, wouldn’t be possible without the hours of dedication, patience and spirit of our volunteers. This International Women’s Day, we’re joining the United Nations global campaign to champion Rights, Equality, and Empowerment. Women in life sciences are driving novel research, mentoring future scientists, and shaping the future of healthcare. But barriers remain. From underrepresentation in clinical trials to inequality in leadership. This #IWD, we’re celebrating the women in our community who are creating new opportunities, inspiring the next generation, and helping us break barriers. Our Board and General Committee have flagged some incredible women who have contributed to ELRIG or furthered the discovery of new medicines. But we know there are many more. Tag someone below who is empowering women in STEM. Let’s amplify their contributions! #ForAllWomenAndGirls #IWD2025 #WomenInSTEM
