When developing a new system, numerous inquiries arise regarding its functionality, core concepts, materials, assembly process, with the most common question being 'What does elsi stand for?'. Comparisons are often drawn with other systems like volumetric and a Kit of Parts. Despite the Kit of Parts being a relatively new term in construction, we have been refining this concept for over 12 years, incorporating our extensive knowledge into the elsi system. Recently, we have observed a dilution of the term Kit of Parts from its original context when we initiated the off-site revolution. While designing the system, our priority was the functionality, quality, and value we offer to our clients. We aimed to establish a brand that not only showcases our expertise but also distinguishes us from the commonly advertised Kit of Parts. Upon reviewing various off-site and modern construction methods, the uniqueness of the elsi system became evident. We wanted our name to not only differentiate itself like the system but also clarify its essence. When asked 'What does elsi stand for?' and 'What system is elsi?', we proudly state that ‘elsi’ in an elsi system stands for Ecologically Low-impact Structural Innovation. The elsi system is adaptable to various formats and is architecturally neutral, eliminating the need for a specific typology. Its application spans across residential, commercial, and educational settings.
