Ener-Vate's Sarah Elson had an enjoyable visit to the Friends of Allonby Community Garden last week to present a delivery of top soil donated by Ener-Vate and The Peel Group. 🌱 Situated across from the Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse and Tobacco Warehouse in Liverpool, both connected to the #MerseyHeat network, this fantastic new community garden is lovingly managed by volunteers. Their mission is to offer educational activities for local children from the city's schools, helping them grow food and flowers while discovering their interests, learning valuable skills, and brightening the local area. 🌹 🌻 The garden always needs more support, whether through volunteer help or donations. Currently, they’re on the lookout for plant pots, soil, and reclaimed scaffold boards to build raised flower beds. If you can help, please email sarahe@ener-vate.co.uk, and we’ll put you in touch! 🤝 #community #sustainability #netzero #heatnetwork #communitygarden David Tatton Steve Hunt Stephen Marsh James Hadfield Thomas Chapman Barbora Maleckova Isabelle Macfarlane Brian Connor

Earlier this month, Ener-Vate hosted four key site visits of the Mersey Heat Network on behalf of our client The Peel Group, with lunch and presentations hosted at Liverpool's prestigious Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse. The visits brought together influential figures such as Minister for Energy Consumers, Miatta Fahnbulleh, and Sefton MP Bill Esterson, alongside representatives from Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Liverpool City Council and Net Zero Scotland among others. As part of its commitment to the decarbonisation of #Liverpool, Titanic Hotel has officially signed to connect to the heat network, alongside the iconic residential Tobacco Warehouse and the proposed Southern Warehouse as part of the redevelopment of the Stanley Dock area. These key connections represent a major milestone in the network’s growth and demonstrate the tangible impact district heating can have on reducing carbon emissions in urban areas. 👏 Jo Longdon, Ener-Vate’s Director of Strategy, commented: "Hosting these important site visits at the Titanic Hotel has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase the scale and ambition of the Mersey Heat project. We're proud to have welcomed Minister Fahnbulleh and Mr Esterson to see the progress first-hand. District Heat Networks are crucial to the UK’s net-zero journey, and Mersey Heat is setting the standard for how local heat sources can be harnessed to provide low-carbon energy to entire communities. We are excited for the next phases of the project and look forward to seeing its positive impact on Liverpool." Brian Connor, General Manager at the Titanic Hotel, added: "Being part of such an innovative project is a great honour for us. The Titanic Hotel is committed to sustainability, and connecting to the Mersey Heat Network is an important step in reducing our carbon footprint. We are thrilled to be involved in this transformative initiative for the city and are looking forward to the benefits it will bring to the local community." Looking ahead, Ener-Vate is planning a series of exciting events in October in Liverpool, including the filming of a Sky TV documentary at the Titanic Hotel, which will further highlight the ground breaking work being done through the Mersey Heat Network. 🙌 Click here for more information on the Mersey Heat Network ➡ https://lnkd.in/euN8bYA8 🏨 https://lnkd.in/dGD8r93 #decarbonisingliverpool #lowcarbon #heatnetworks #districtheating

Last Thursday was a BLAST filming for Mersey Heat 🎥 We grabbed our hard hats, cameras and high-vis jackets and headed to The Titanic Hotel to explore all things district heat networks and how they will help make Liverpool a greener place to live, work and visit. The sun even came out in the afternoon during MP Bill Esterson’s visit, which gave us some fabulous content in front of bright blue skies. Shoutout to Ener-Vate and Vital Energi Utilities Limited for organising such a great event, as well as our fantastic partners at If We Ran The Zoo and Kootoo.
