⚡️ Operational flexibility in action ⚡️ We're pleased to have demonstrated another successful flexibility partnership following work with Statkraft and their Rheidol hydropower scheme. Using the hydro station to provide flexibility services enabled us to provide a continuous electricity service to 25,000 customers in the Ceredigion region of Mid Wales whilst work on the electricity grid between Aberystwyth and Barnmouth was carried out. Flexibility is a key component of our DSO strategy and Rheidol hydropower scheme is just one operational flexibility providers working with us to provide standby generation availability and post fault generation turn up. Our friends at Spring, the water sector centre of excellence, have launched their fourth innovation accelerator challenge and are calling for innovators from all backgrounds to apply. https://lnkd.in/eBR8r9BD The Spring Accelerator is an end-to-end innovation challenge process that has been created to identify innovative solutions that help address a significant need in the UK & Ireland water sector, reduce the duplication of innovation efforts, and provide a path to faster adoption. The current programme, Spring Accelerator 4, is looking to answer the question: “How can we better understand, monitor and manage emerging contaminants in wastewater?” If you’re an innovator, don’t miss this opportunity to have your solutions seen, evaluated, and potentially adopted by the UK and Ireland water sector

📢 Calling all innovators! 📢 We're working with the EIC to find innovators to collaborate on developing a ‘smart connector’. These connectors will be installed in newly made cable joints on our underground low voltage network to locate faults, provide network operation data and enhance operator safety, while reducing disruption for customers. If you think you can support, find out more through the EIC 👉 https://lnkd.in/dSB5ujnW #electricitynetwork #innovation #energyinnovation
