“The AI has finally caught up with the robotics”, I was told on visiting Engineered Arts Ltd to meet Ameca, the humanoid bot with some ChatGPT powered conversation. Loved the company’s Founder and CEO Will Jackson having firm words with it for keeping talking after he told it to stop. Its hands when not on her felt like posh rubber gloves, her eyes (and another robot’s tongue) were very creepy, but put it all together with some amazing hardware and software, and, well, is it weird to say she made quite good company?
