Insulated panels are a great example of a product with a long history of traceability which helps to enable compliance with the latest legislation. This makes them an asset to architects, surveyors, specifiers, building owners, building control officers, and fire safety engineers when it comes to maintaining the Golden Thread. About us
The objectives of EPIC (Engineered Panels In Construction) are to promote the use and knowledge of the benefits of insulated panels and to ensure the ready availability of technical information both in the use of insulated panels and their performance over their complete life cycle. EPIC provides up-to-date guidance through a range of Technical Guides covering regulatory requirements, energy conservation and fire performance and end of life. Guides are available in a pdf format that can be easily downloaded from the EPIC website. EPIC guides are prepared using the extensive knowledge and experience of EPIC member companies and with the additional help and guidance from a range of specialist consultants according to the subject. Wherever possible the Guides include supporting evidence from research, case studies and independent testing. Guidance for regulators. EPIC represents the insulated panel industry in the UK and is a major contributor on a number of government consultative working groups, particularly in the areas of energy conservation; fire regulation; waste and life cycle analysis and sustainability. The EPIC management team is drawn from the major manufacturers of rigid urethane products who supply over 90% of panels produced in the United Kingdom.

In October 2024, it was reported that footfall levels for retailers dropped by 3% due to flooding with many warehouses, leisure centres, and retail parks affected. So, how can we design more flood-resilient constructions or adapt existing commercial buildings in the UK? CALL FOR EVIDENCE! In partnership with the Met Office, the Climate Change Committee have launched a second round Call for Evidence to gather input for the Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk. This will underpin the Fourth Climate Change Risk Assessment. We are looking to use this Call for Evidence to gather input for both outputs of CCRA4-IA: 📓 The Technical Report – a review of the risks and opportunities the UK faces from climate change. The Technical Report is being delivered by a consortium led by the Met Office. In this Call for Evidence we are requesting evidence specific to each of the 45 risks and opportunities being assessed (these are set out in the webpage linked above). In particular, we are asking for quantitative evidence about the impact these risks could pose, as well as evidence on how existing and planned government and non-government adaptation will moderate these impacts. 📓 The Well-Adapted UK Report – this new output will set out the adaptation response needed to address the risks and opportunities from climate change. The Well-Adapted UK Report is being delivered by the CCC. For this Call for Evidence, we are requesting evidence about effective adaptation solutions, including evidence of their impact, the investment need and associated barriers and enablers. We are also interested in evidence which could inform targets for climate resilience. The survey for submitting evidence can be accessed online: https://lnkd.in/e3p6eEpQ The Call for Evidence closes on the 31 March 2025. The Call for Evidence helps to ensure we are aware of the latest and most relevant information on UK climate risk and adaptation. Thank you in advance for taking the time to contribute to this important step in our methodology, through which you are supporting the robustness of the CCRA4-IA. Contributions to the Call for Evidence will be acknowledged in both outputs.

Did you know that high quality insulated panels can often be reused when a building is dismantled, particularly on industrial and agricultural buildings? But, where reuse in its entirety isn’t possible, the steel facings can be readily recycled, with the shredded core often being turned into a source of energy from waste.
