We are pleased to announce that we are taking part in the #ArtsForImpact match funding campaign. ENO Breathe, the award-winning online programme developed by ENO in collaboration with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, has already transformed the lives of over 4,500 people across England. Initially created in 2020 to support individuals recovering from COVID-19 who continued to experience breathlessness and anxiety, ENO Breathe has proven to be a 'pocketful of hope' for many. Now, ENO Breathe is exploring how its innovative approach, combining breathing techniques with singing, can benefit those living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, and other respiratory conditions. This expansion will allow the programme to support even more people in regaining control of their breathing, reducing anxiety, and improving their overall quality of life. Thanks to the generosity of New Philanthropy for Arts & Culture, ENO Breathe has secured £10,000 in matched funds to help expand this pioneering intervention. This matched funding offers a unique opportunity to double the impact of support and ensure that more people can benefit from this vital programme. The continued growth of ENO Breathe marks a critical moment in respiratory care, combining the power of the arts with healthcare to offer a new approach to managing respiratory conditions alongside standard treatments. Last week, we were delighted to celebrate Thea Musgrave at the House of Lords, alongside composers Judith Weir, Tansy Davies, Elena Langer and representatives from across the opera industry.
