Once a year, our research and development experts gather at the 𝘌𝘛𝘊 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 to discuss innovations at ETC and in our industry. This year's event brought together around 100 experts from across our technical departments and sites at ETC Deutschland in Jülich. Last month, the UK management took the next step on our EID journey by attending a full day workshop on Inclusive Leadership, hosted by the fantastic team at Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear ✨ The day began with background information and conversation about the barriers to successful careers that exist for different groups of people. The team was provided with guidance on how to be inclusive leaders, including but not limited to having the courage to speak up for others, being mindful of personal and organisational bias and having curiosity about the experience of others. Finally, the team discussed the benefits of inclusive leadership to organisations and the pitfalls of a non-inclusive leadership approach. 🚀 ETC accompanies the first Ariane 6 launch in Kourou! 🚀   The European rocket Ariane 6 has taken off on its maiden flight - equipped with pressurised helium tanks developed by ETC. Last week, members of the ETC team had the pleasure of joining the Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear conference, both online and at the Edwardian Manchester. This is the second annual IDN conference attended by representatives from ETC, and each year we have been extremely impressed by the high standard of speakers and workshops. Highlights included Prof Jason Arday's keynote on inclusion, intersectionality and belonging in the workplace and Caroline Keep's workshop on how to retain neurodivergent colleagues, both of which gave us extremely valuable learning to take forward into our EDI Working Group. The day also gave us chance to catch up with our friends from the Nuclear Rainbow Forum and network with our colleagues from across the UK Nuclear Industry. There was a great feeling of unity between organisations and motivation for the collaboration needed to foster positive change across the nuclear sector.
