💥 Welcome to the new edition of EnSilica's monthly newsletter! 💥 In this month's ASIC Insights from EnSilica we look at SoC verification for high integrity applications. Verification is one of the key phase in any SoC development but is critical phase for application such as automotive, industrial or aerospace applications. Read on for unique insights from EnSilica's expert Enrique Martinez. #ASIC#CustomASIC#ASICdesign
On August 13, 2024, NIST released the standards for the first three Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) algorithms. NIST is now urging cybersecurity experts to integrate these groundbreaking algorithms into their systems. Given their complexity, hardware accelerators will be essential for incorporating these algorithms into ICs/ASICs. At EnSilica, we’re already ahead of the curve, supporting companies with our eSi-Crypto library of hardware accelerators. Interested in making your next device PQC-ready? Please schedule a call with our team today. https://lnkd.in/eZ-xnx-P

A huge congratulations to Carlos for his outstanding achievement this year and to Tulio for his remarkable success in 2023, both earning the prestigious award for Best Master’s Degree Work in Microelectronics in Brazil. We are proud to have such talented individuals working for EnSilica! Wishing Carlos all the best as he embarks on his PhD journey in the US after more than two years of outstanding contributions at EnSilica.
EnSilica strives to recruit a high caliber team! Tulio Pereira Bitencourt and Carlos Gewehr, EnSilica employees, had their master’s work selected Best Master Thesis in Microelectronics in 2023 and 2024, respectively, awarded by Sociedade Brasileira de Microeletrônica (SBMicro). Congratulations to them and their advisors Sergio Bampi (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) and Fernando Moraes (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul). And success to Carlos on his PhD in the US!

💡 We are getting ready for the annual CW Technology & Engineering Conference (CW TEC 2024) on 🗓 Thursday 27 June 2024, 📍 Cambridge, UK💡 Now in its tenth year, CW TEC 2024 will bring together experts from the field of AI and technology, as well as critical industries such as healthcare, banking and telecommunications, to share insights on AI integration and the design and engineering challenges surrounding it. @EnSilica's VP of Sensing&Control Bernard Wu will be available to demonstrate EnSilica’s sensor technology and discuss about the potential for AI in healthcare, with a particular focus on wearable technology and how it can be used to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, which account for roughly three-quarters of death globally each year (WHO). Bernard has commented, “NCDs are a growing concern for healthcare organisations around the world. AI has made it possible to detect and manage these conditions remotely, using sensor-based technology and AI to monitor and analyse patients’ vital signs. By attaching a small device to a patient’s wrist or placing a patch on their skin, healthcare professionals are able to accelerate diagnoses, free up hospital beds, expand their research, and achieve better patient outcomes overall.” Wearable devices, which can monitor vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, blood oxygen and glucose levels, then use AI to process and analyze patient data in real time, will play a critical role in the research, diagnosis and management of NCD conditions. However, one of the primary challenges facing the industry at the moment is how such technology can be incorporated into small, edge-based wearable devices with sufficient power, security and processing capabilities, a topic which EnSilica is well placed to optimise. Bernard Wu continues, “Devices are getting smaller, and we may soon be in a position where design is outpacing manufacturing in terms of what can be achieved. With AI maturing, now is the time to address some of the engineering challenges relating to processing, power consumption and security.” Application Specific Integrated Circuits, or ASICs, are specialised computer chips designed to perform dedicated functions with higher efficiency and lower power consumption than general-purpose processors. They can also facilitate edge computing, where data processing occurs directly on the device, preserving privacy and allowing devices to be used in areas with low connectivity. #asic #customasic #asicdesign #healthcareasic #healthcareinnovation
