Earlier this month an amazing team from Roche Diagnostics took on an epic 32km walk in memory of their colleague, Matt Dale. They walked the stunning Findon and Arundel loop in Sussex, completing the challenge in nine hours. Their incredible effort raised over £1,100 for Epilepsy Society. A huge thank you to everyone involved. 💜

Congratulations to our London team members who recently took on the Royal Parks Half Marathon, all in support of our 2024 charity partner, the Epilepsy Society x The Amelia Roberts Fund. The scenic 13.1-mile course showcased some of London’s most iconic landmarks and took runners through four of London’s beautiful Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park, and Kensington Gardens. A huge thank you to Tegan Huntington, Amy Potten, James Wells, Helen White and Julie Zhao for your participation and to everyone who cheered them on and contributed to this important cause! #HalfMarathon #LondonParks

Epilepsy Society response to government online platform For one third of people with epilepsy, their seizures do not respond to available drugs and they live with ongoing seizures. This is distressing for them, and their families and friends. We welcome the Government’s ambition of realising three big shifts in healthcare as part of its 10 Year Health Plan – hospital to community, analogue to digital and sickness to prevention. Chief Executive Officer of the Epilepsy Society Clare Pelham said, “We especially welcome the emphasis on prevention. And an important aspect of prevention for people with drug resistant epilepsy, is research. The UK leads the world in this area. Targeted investment to accelerate the effective treatments that are almost within the grasp of our amazing researchers would result in happier, healthier lives for people with epilepsy. We call on the government to recognise that healthcare research is a vital piece of the NHS jigsaw. Investment in research will give hope to the hundreds of thousands of people with epilepsy of happier, healthier lives. And bring an end to the grave loss to the country of their talents and all that they might achieve if their seizures were controlled effectively.”
