Tips for staying compliant with DSEAR regulations 💡 Enforced by the Health and Safety Executive, the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) are crucial for protecting your workplace and ensuring the safety of both employees and the public. Non-compliance can lead to serious legal and safety risks. Here’s how to stay on top of these regulations: 1. Identify hazardous substances: regularly assess your workplace for any dangerous substances that could pose a risk, including flammable gases, liquids, and dust. 2. Conduct risk assessments: perform thorough risk assessments to understand the potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate these risks. 3. Implement safety measures: ensure that you have effective safety procedures in place, such as proper storage, handling, and use of hazardous substances, to prevent accidents. 4. CompEx certificates are valid for a maximum of five years from the date of issue and must be refreshed before the expiry date on the certificate. Failure to refresh before the expiry date will result in having to attend the full qualification (Ex01 – Ex04) again.
