Equitix CEO, Hugh Crossley, attended the Government’s International Investment Summit today alongside other global business leaders, during which the Prime Minister unveiled more than £50bn of new investment in the British economy including over £24bn worth of investment in clean energy projects. Congratulations to our courageous team who took up the challenge of the Macquarie Capital Cup again last Friday! Our team can hold their heads high, coming in at a very close second place against Slaughter & May in the final, losing 2-1. This year’s annual tournament saw 24 teams courageously battle it out at Powerleague, Shepherd’s Bush for the Cup to raise funds for Street League, a charity which uses the power of sport to tackle poverty and give young people the opportunities they need to succeed in life and the workplace. A fantastic achievement as a result of their personal time training over the last few weeks with Coach Wes and Katrina Auguste leading the charge. This marks the second year for an Equitix team to come in second place in this fantastic charity fixture. Congratulations to our team of trekkers who completed the 26-mile (marathon) walk in North Norfolk on Friday in aid of Willow Burn Hospice. The team of 21 from Equitix and Equitix Management Services Limited (EMS) collectively raised a staggering amount- over £21,000 including match funding! The Equitix Foundation's mission is to materially support causes with a connection to Equitix assets in the community and we are privileged to be able to do just that in County Durham. It costs around £10,000 for the centre to provide 12 weeks of full time palliative nursing and we know that every penny sent will be actively helping to improve end of life care for residents and their families. Yesterday Equitix were proud participants, alongside OX2 Polska, at the opening event of the new onshore wind farm, in Kraśnik, Poland. Capable of generating enough power for 16,000 local homes, its 7 turbines will help avoid the emission of about 28,000 tons of CO2 each year. With our fast-growing portfolio in renewable power, we understand how critical it is to gain a comprehensive understanding of how climate change will impact operational assets in the sector. We will collaborate with Sust Global to create novel inputs for our financial models by using high-resolution climate models and forward-looking wind speed analytics. This strategic partnership aligns with the forthcoming handback period of PPP assets to UK Government and the coinciding shift in asset management priorities.  Both businesses have already worked together successfully, particularly within social infrastructure, since 2018. Gbp group is the largest Managed Services Agreement Provider in the NHS LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) sector in England, providing management services to 14 LIFT companies across England.
