Meet The Team - Bentley Gaffney This week, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Bentley Gaffney, one of our dedicated Mobile Mechanical Engineers, to gain insight into his role at Ergro and discover what he enjoys doing in his free time. How long have you been at Ergro, and how are you getting on? “I’ve been working at Ergro since April, and it’s been great! I came from a mechanical background, so it was a good switch at the right time.” What made you choose to work at Ergro? “I liked the way they work and the team dynamic—it was really appealing. The team is also like a big family, which was a huge factor for me.” What’s the best part of your job? “Home time, haha! But seriously, I’d say feeling like I matter and that I’m making a difference.” Where do you see yourself in 5 years? “Professionally, I hope to be moving up into management at Ergro, as I think it would suit me well. Personally, I see myself continuing to be the best father I can be to my two children and feeling more settled in life.” If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? “Oh, I’d have to say my mum’s Chinese cabbage with crispy chunks and strips of steak. It’s my favourite!” If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be? “Time with my kids, 100%.” What’s your favourite way to spend downtime? “On Christmas Eve, I love driving to the coast to swim in the sea at night. It feels like a reset and a moment to thank the big man for another year.” If you could watch one movie again for the first time, what would it be and why? “Definitely Forrest Gump! It’s a fantastic film, and I’d love to experience the iconic line, ‘Life’s like a box of chocolates,’ again for the first time.” What are the top three items on your bucket list? “To meet David Jason, to ride a horse through a desert, and to sit with gorillas!” If money and time were no object, what would you be doing right now? “I’d buy loads of old-school gaming consoles like a Game Boy, PlayStation 1/2, etc., and sit back to play all the classics with my favourite food!” If you had a talk show and could invite three guests, dead or alive, who would you invite? “That’s tough! I’d say Robin Williams, Freddie Starr, and Joe Longthorne for his music—or maybe Bob Marley!” What’s your biggest pet peeve? “Definitely people with bad morals.” #meettheteam #teaminsights #people https://lnkd.in/ej4Z75FE

Ergro Enhancing Its Client Experience "With Ergro Group growth forecast to increase by 30% in the next two years, we knew we needed to invest in a CAFM system that would accommodate the increase in business but be far simpler for our clients to review the status of their works. Following a thorough procurement process we have engaged Joblogic Service Management Software to provide us with a system that can meet our current and future requirements. After a detailed 6-month mobilisation period, we are pleased to announce that we are live, with further enhancements to follow." – Paul Martin – Managing Director Click the link to read more: https://lnkd.in/eQR7qAF3 #ErgroEarth #JoblogicServiceManagementSoftware #MYComplianceManagementLimited #FordPro

West End Working - Great Windmill St VRV Replacement… We are very excited to share that we have been appointed by an existing client who is a prominent West End landlord to replace the ageing VRV systems at an office block on Great Windmill Street. The project requires the phased crane lift removal of redundant condensers on the busy London street, followed by replacement with modern Daikin, energy efficient equivalents. In addition to the AC installation, we will be handling all of the associated building and electrical works. This phased project is scheduled to take place over 8 - 10 weeks, from September to November, with the majority of the work being completed out-of-hours, to ensure minimised disruption to building tenants and visitors. Being a Daikin D1+ approved contractor allows us to provide extended an warranty period and we will also be looking to provide the ongoing PPM on the newly installed equipment via our fully trained service team. Congratulations to our team on securing another exciting project win! Quality engineering, Smarter solutions. #vrv #replacement #condensers #ac https://lnkd.in/ejEjcMhe

Meet the Team – Sam Challis This week, our “Meet the Team” feature puts the spotlight on one of our Service Engineers - Sam Challis. We took some time to gain insight into what it’s like to work at Ergro and what he gets up to in his spare time outside of work. What’s the best part of your job? “Getting paid of course! Probably working with my colleagues after that, we all seem to get along and have a good time at work.” Where do you see yourself in 5 years? “Over the next 5 years I can really see myself developing and becoming more specialised in my role.” What do you do in your spare time? “I like to keep myself in some sort of shape, so I go to the gym and play Saturday league football. I also try to go fishing at least a couple of nights a week as well” What is your biggest pet peeve? “Being told to do something when I'm already in the process of doing it.” If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you? “Definitely a football as one item. Does a multi gym count as one item?” What’s your favourite way to spend down time? “On the bank fishing, in the middle of nowhere.” #meettheteam #teaminsights #people https://lnkd.in/ePHk-2VS

Ergro Awarded University of Arts London Framework Place As of last month, Ergro have been awarded a place on the University of Arts London (UAL) Minor Works Framework. Made up of 6 Colleges and 4 Institutes across London, UAL is Europe’s largest specialist arts and design university, hosting 20,000 students on undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This new arrangement has brought the numerous contractors together on a 3 year framework (with the option to extend for a further 2 years). Ergro will be able to bid for works under the Mechanical and Electrical Lot. We have secured our place to deliver works of a different nature and may include heating systems and boilers, HVAC works, ventilation and air conditioning unit replacements. We are very excited to be embarking on this relationship with the University and look forward to sharing project updates once packages begin mobilising. #framework #contractaward #winningbids #universityestates https://lnkd.in/edYtJQCH

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2024… Today we have joined millions around the world for the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning, where the team come together to help raise vital funds and spread awareness for those bravely battling cancer. The purpose of the Macmillan Coffee Morning is to unite colleagues to share food and drinks (even some homemade) while raising donations to support Macmillan's critical work. We're proud to announce that we raised £80.50, a fantastic contribution from the team towards this important cause! With over 200 types of cancer worldwide and 1 in 2 people developing some form of cancer in their lifetime*, it’s crucial to participate in events like these – not only to raise funds for research and treatment, but also to increase awareness. If you'd like to donate and learn more about how Macmillan uses these donations, visit the Macmillan Coffee Morning website. https://lnkd.in/eWHfE7ei * https://lnkd.in/evkrt6m8 https://lnkd.in/e7_vywBh

Crane Lift Success at City University Our projects team were very busy at the weekend, supervising a large chiller crane lift operation at one of our ongoing sites at City University London - Northampton Square. Working alongside our specialist sub-contractor Complete Lifting Services, our plant lift and installation was completed safely, carefully coordinating all necessary road closures and diversions to ensure smooth operations and minimisation of disruption to road users and pedestrians. This lifting operation was a necessary stage in our ongoing chiller replacement programme that we have been undertaking at the Grade II listed College Building, after we disconnected the existing pipework and conducted water sampling, whilst also disconnecting power and BMS connections. With the first phase of installing the new Daikin 600kW chiller now complete, our team of experienced engineers are continuing with the installation of pipework, electrical components, and BMS connections, followed by a full testing and commissioning service. Our team boasts extensive experience in delivering M&E projects within live operational education environments, with this latest successful project execution aiding in maintaining our strong working relationship with City University of London for over a decade.
