Did you know that Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Park in Colchester is Essex Wildlife Trust's first nature reserve? It's always great to be reminded of the diversity of wildlife that this reserve supports, like this osprey, spotted last week. 🦅 If you need a nature fix, this is one of our favourite reserves at this time of year. 💚 📷 Paul Everett #wildlifesighting #conservation #nature

Fantastic Wild Work Day by Olympus UK & Ireland one of our Platinum Investor in Wildlife Corporate Members. Thank you to your HR team for all their hard work helping us achieve a #WilderEssex 🐿️🐝🦇🦔🦡🌳🐦⬛🐜🦭🦋🦉
Last month, our HR team helped Essex Wildlife Trust to prepare a local nature reserve for the winter ahead ❄ Utilising the Olympus Volunteering Scheme, which gives employees two days per year to dedicate to charitable causes, the team decided to support Essex Wildlife Trust, who Olympus has been a proud platinum member of, for over 25 years! 🥈 Joining forces with the regular work-party, they took on tasks such as cutting hedgerows, constructing dead-hedges and clearing woodland rides, all essential for maintaining the reserve for both visitors and wildlife. 🦔 Working outdoors in nature, away from their screens, not only benefitted the reserve but also boosted the team’s mental health, leaving everyone feeling proud, energised, and connected. 💚 #OlympusVolunteers #SocialResponsibility #CSR

Essex Wildlife Trust ambassador, Andrew Millham, followed our leaf hedgehog blog and created these masterpieces with his Year 3 class at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School in Leigh-on-Sea. 🦔 Andrew said that the children loved going outside and collecting their own leaves, which is why we really like this arts and crafts idea - it gets you outside! We love all of Year 3's hedgehog creations. Don't you think they did a great job? 🍂🍁 If you're looking for ideas this half term why not give this a go?
