The EU Delegation to the UK was delighted to attend Farnborough air show. The Delegation was provided with an insightful tour of the air show, organised with the support of ADS Group Ltd, during which manufacturing companies showcased their projects on decarbonising aviation and developing innovative solutions. EU Deputy Ambassador Nicole Mannion emphasised the importance of sustainable aviation and collaboration across Europe on greener aviation innovation and earth observation. The EU Delegation to the UK recently hosted the Blue Marine Foundation for an insightful dialogue on protecting the oceans. The event featured engaging discussions and presentation by Charles Clover of his books, including "Rewilding the Sea." The event was a great opportunity to showcase projects by Blue Marine to the EU Delegation and to Member States Attachés present.

Exciting news: the European Research Council (ERC) awarded its Proof of Concept grants to 15 UK projects, the first since the UK joined #HorizonEU  - making the top beneficiary in the first round of 2024. The grants – each worth €150 000 – help researchers bridge the gap between the discovery phase and the practical application of their findings, including early phases of commercialisation.
