We're delighted to announce that the leading German sports magazine SPORT BILD has awarded Eurosport with the title of best sports channel in Germany. Every week since 2002, SPORT BILD has rated sports broadcasts in Germany and awards between one point (own goal) and five points (bullseye!) for the editorial coverage. Each year, the highest ranked winner is honoured as TV sports editorial team of the year with Eurosport securing the top score over the 2023/2024 season. We were delighted to welcome SPORT BILD editor Steven Jörgensen to WBD House - our Parisian studios used for the Olympics - to congratulate Jochen Gundel and the German editorial team. He writes: "The Eurosport studio at the Olympic Games enjoys a direct view to the Arc de Triomphe, which is particularly fitting given that the sports channel has achieved a significant triumph with winning the TV ranking this year. Eurosport impressed with its coverage of the Olympics, cycling (including the Tour de France), the tennis Grand Slams, winter sports, and snooker.
