This Sunday saw the ParalympicsGB swimming squad and the ParalympicsGB taekwondo team departing for the #Paralympics2024 on board of our trains.  We wish the entire Paralympics GB team the best of luck!   Only two more days before the Paralympic Games begin – we can’t wait. Let the Games begin! 

Yesterday, some of the Dutch NOC*NSF Paralympic athletes left for Paris, ready to give their best at the #Paralympics2024!     On board, we welcomed Para-rowster Esther van der Loos and Para-rower Corné de Koning.   Best of luck from the whole #Eurostar team. We’re so proud to be the partnering with you! 

Today the first Belgian Paralympic athletes 🇧🇪 took our trains to go to #Paris. We were honoured to welcome on board Paralympic Team Belgium’s Para archer Piotr Van Montagu, wheelchair athlete Roger Habsch, and Para cyclist Ewoud Vromant. 🙌   We’re so happy to be official #train travel supplier to Paralympic TeamNL 🇳🇱 and official train travel partner to ParalympicsGB 🇬🇧 and Paralympic Team Belgium 🇧🇪. We can’t wait for the #Paralympic Games to start – best of luck everyone! 💪

Our trains were a bit heavier yesterday, as we carried home athletes from TeamNL, Team Deutschland, Comité Olympique et Interfédéral Belge and Team GB with a haul of bronze, silver, and gold medals!🏅 Stay tuned for our recap video (coming soon). "Skateboarding is new to the #Olympics but it’s been around for long time, with a rich history #skateboarding just on the street, and it’s a lifestyle more than a sport. Street Skateboarding and Olympic Skateboarding are distinctly different and almost mutually exclusive. Tony Hawk once famously said, Skateboarding doesn’t need the Olympics, the Olympics needs Skateboarding. And if in the rare case you are able to do both, that’s cool too.”   Those were the words Roos translated from an interview with David Kramer, our Dutch Route Manager. In this interview, Roos Zwetsloot talks about the skate park she recently recently, to especially welcome women #skaters in a male dominated lifestyle #sport. Once in a lifetime... Last Friday we finished one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. Thanks to the Olympic games I had the opportunity to participate in the "Ride to Paris" event thanks to Team Belgium and Eurostar. We started our journey in Brussels and, for three days, we cycled more than 130 km every day until we made it to Paris last Friday just in time for the Olympic opening ceremony. Before I was selected to participate in this event, my bike was rusty and not rideable, and I hadn’t cycled for more than a year. With only a month to get ready, I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I couldn’t let this opportunity pass. I would have regretted it all my life if I did. This journey was filled with many firsts for me: my first time cycling more than 100 km, my first time cycling three days in a row, and my first time cycling in a group. Even though I was really scared, I managed to enjoy all of those first times. After 400 km, countless hours, many conversations on the bike, pain in many places of my body, and a lot of food to fuel we arrived at the Belgium house. The journey came to an end, and I couldn't help but being happy for surviving and sad because it was over. I was incredibly fortunate to share this experience with two Olympic medalists, Greg Van Avermaet and Axel Merckx, a big group of amazing people , a great team that made it possible, and three awesome colleagues I got to know thanks to this. This experience has been a profound journey of personal and professional growth.
