Today, Excello Law COO, Jo, was a featured speaker at the Career Legal and DVF Recruitment breakfast seminar, where a group of inspirational women shared their unique career and life journeys. Jo spoke about the challenges she faced as her desire to be there for her children began to conflict with her ambitions as a lawyer. After taking time out to focus on her family, she struggled to re-enter the legal industry. At one point, Jo even considered leaving law altogether. However, driven by her ambition and determination, she set up her own law firm before meeting Excello Law founder, George Bisnought. Together, they discovered a shared vision: to create a law firm where lawyers could choose how, where and when they wanted to work. Jo emphasised the importance of following your instincts, stepping out of your comfort zone, and always staying curious. In doing so, she encouraged attendees to embrace personal growth, learning, and continuous development. #WomenInLaw #LegalCareers

In his latest post, Barney Laurence, commercial litigation and disputes lawyer at Excello Law emphasises the significance of incorporating terms and conditions into client agreements, even though it is no longer a mandatory requirement. Barney also addresses the concept of “quantum meruit,” which allows for the recovery of reasonable fees for services rendered when formal agreements are absent. This can provide a crucial safeguard for businesses operating in fast-paced environments. https://lnkd.in/ePFfnQkE #BusinessLaw #QuantumMeruit #ExcelloLaw

Best of luck to Excello Law's COO Joanne Losty who will be speaking at the Career Legal and DVF Recruitment breakfast seminar tomorrow in London.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be speaking at the Career Legal and DVF Recruitment breakfast seminar tomorrow. This event celebrates the incredible achievements of women in law and beyond, while also discussing the challenges we still face today. From my journey at a traditional law firm, to founding my own corporate law firm to COO at Excello Law, all while raising three children, the path hasn’t always been easy—but it has been incredibly rewarding. My experience taught me that there’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach to a legal career. There are countless opportunities out there for women, especially those willing to look beyond the traditional paths. I’m passionate about encouraging other female lawyers to embrace these opportunities and explore the many alternative career paths available today. I can’t wait to share my story, connect with other powerful professionals, and hopefully inspire a new generation of women in law to step into exciting new ventures. #WomenInLaw #LegalCareers #AlternativeCareers #WomenInBusiness
