Industrial strategy In a recent post I talked about why purpose driven business governance sets you up for success, so it's encouraging to see the government taking up some of those principles when it comes to their management of the economy. Invest 2035 identifies eight key growth sectors for the UK across the next decade: Advanced manufacturing Creative industries Clean Energy Defence Digital and Technologies Financial services Life Sciences Professional and business services The report identifies the strengths of the UK in our research institutions, our venture capital market, our diverse workforce, and our ability to attract foreign direct investment. Perhaps more importantly though four key weaknesses have been identified in persistent low investment, regional disparity, weak diffusion of ideas and technology, and slowing market dynamism. With the latest jobs data indicating that vacancies are still scarce, it's vital that the government works with business to address these issues. Recent UK governments have had a particular talent for paying lip service to addressing structural issues with our economy and then not following through, so the real test will be whether this government can work with business to drive innovation and entrepreneurship. Combined with the government's commitment to planning reform and its reshaping of the British business bank we can definitely see the advent of more long term thinking in British politics. Here's hoping that the government listens to what a range of businesses are saying about the benefits of closer cooperation with Europe and pursues more dynamic alignment with the single market. What do you think are the key strengths and weaknesses of our economy and what role do you think the government should have in market shaping?

How do you maximise the return on your investment in Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO)? At Exemplia, we fully understand the importance of finding the right talent efficiently and effectively. RPO can be a game-changer for organisations, providing numerous benefits such as reduced time-to-hire, improved candidate quality, and increased cost savings. However, to truly optimise your RPO investment, it's crucial to consider three crucial factors. Firstly, collaboration is key. Building a strong partnership with your RPO provider is essential for success. By aligning your goals, sharing insights, and maintaining open communication, you can ensure that your RPO provider understands your unique hiring needs and can deliver tailored solutions. Secondly, it's critical to have the right metrics in place to enable a detailed analysis of not just the existing performance of your RPO provider, but also how they've improved your previous recruitment processes and performance. The RPO provider should be benchmarking key metrics at the start of your relationship. Regularly reviewing performance metrics and feedback will also help identify areas for future improvement and drive a culture of continuous enhancement. Thirdly, technology plays a vital role in maximising RPO ROI. Leveraging innovative recruitment tools and platforms can streamline processes, enhance candidate experience, and provide valuable data-driven insights. From applicant tracking systems to AI-powered screening tools, investing in the right technology can significantly boost efficiency and productivity, ultimately leading to better hiring outcomes. #RPO #RecruitmentProcessOutsourcing #MaximiseROI

Sometimes the biggest costs for your business can be the ones hidden in plain sight. Concealed fees and paying year-round salaries for roles that only need part-time or flexible resources can have a huge impact on annual spending and easily be bundled in with general running costs. While outsourcing your hiring may seem like a pricey exercise, we've helped our clients identify what they're paying for when they use their own team for recruitment and where they can save money, time, and resources. Outsourcing helps you to save on… ● Internal recruiters' salaries, all year round ● The latest training, for example, workshops on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ● Commissions or bonuses for referrals ● The use of job boards and licenses for recruitment software ● Candidate screening tools All these costs add up over time. By partnering with a Recruitment Process Outsourcing organisation, everything is transparent and upfront and you know exactly how much to budget for each hire. Want to find out more about what RPO can offer you? Message Chris Sharp and we'll share the full rundown of all the costs involved. #RPO #recruitmentcosts #efficiency

Recruiting top talent is one of the most important things you can do to stay ahead of the competition. Outsourcing your recruitment process can provide you with significant advantages to help you ensure you get the best people for the job and here's how: - you can save time and money by removing the need for an in-house recruiter and only paying for the recruitment resource you need, when you need it. - an expert external recruiter will often have the additional skills and experience to help you find the perfect candidate for the job - An RPO organisation will have a wider network of candidates as well as more cost-effective access to advertising channels including job boards and media publications - Outsourcing your recruitment process also gives you the flexibility to focus on other areas of your business. You can be sure that you are getting the best talent for the job without having to spend time and money on interviewing and testing candidates. - By using an RPO, you should also benefit from the latest recruitment techniques and technologies as well as access to a leading Applicant Tracking System. This will help you find the right candidate faster and more efficiently. - If you'd like to find out more on how outsourcing your recruitment will help deliver better quantity, quality, and diversity of candidates at a lower cost per hire, then get in touch with us today on 020 3871 8132. #rpo #outsourcingrecruitment #hiring #talent

Happy New Year! With every new year, often comes new plans! And we know better than anyone that five-year plans are out. Even three-year plans are unlikely to be strictly adhered to. That's because the world around us is continuously changing at a rapid pace. Technological advances, pandemics, unexpected wars and environmental disasters are resulting in fast changing economic conditions that need to be quickly adapted to. In our experience, the businesses that succeed are the ones that are willing to make bold choices, be agile, adapt when necessary, and empower their team to come up with fresh new ideas. Has your company's vision changed in the last three or five years - or even in the last year? Was there anything that just didn't pan out? Are you doing anything different in 2024? We'd love to hear about it, pop it in the comments below. #LongtermPlan #Agility #Exemplia

Armed with this knowledge, hiring managers can make better decisions and avoid common pitfalls that may put off top talent. Take a look below at our top tips of things to avoid in order to attract and engage top talent throughout the recruitment process. Have you come across any other no-go bad recruitment etiquette?
