The project aims to increase sanitation coverage, improve public health and environmental conditions, and make the city of Beira’s sanitation system more resilient. The main objectives of the project are to improve and rehabilitate the sewer network to mitigate climate risks, improve the WWTP, and upgrade the performance of the networks operation and maintenance.   Candidates must ideally meet the following client criteria: Graduated professional Engineer with an MSc or MEng degree. Minimum experience of 15 years with at least 10 years as team leader or other team management role. Professional experience in urban water and sanitation projects. Strong experience in Technical Assistance, including in programme management (multi-stakeholder, multi-donor, urban development). Experience with IFIs. Calling all Solid Waste experts! We are working with an international consultancy seeking a Team Leader and 2x Assistant Team Leaders for a proposal in Senegal. The project involves the improvement of solid waste infrastructure and services in urban areas, and the improvement of waste management services for Greater Dakar. These roles would suit Consultants used to working on short term international assignments.   Candidates must ideally meet the following client criteria: University degree, preferably MSc or MEng in a civil engineering, water or environmental subject; Possess professional experience of over 15 years in solid waste management or environment; Carried out as team leader over the past 10 years, 3 similar assignments related to the design, construction, and commissioning of waste management, recovery, and storage infrastructure (including sorting center, transfer center, waste treatment / valorization industrial unit, sanitary landfill); Conducted as team leader over the past 10 years, at least 2 technical assistance missions in the development of master plans for the management and treatment of solid waste in urban areas with over 250,000 inhabitants; Fluent in French.   Any interested candidates please feel free to connect and message me via LinkedIn for further information.

Expected start date is February 2024 for an approximate duration of 14 months during the design and tendering stages.   The project involves assessment and improvement of water distribution networks, the rehabilitation and extension of sewer systems, along with the rehabilitation of associated infrastructure such as pumping stations, wells and reservoirs.
