  • In an age of fast-paced content and fleeting attention, museums and galleries are turning to a slower, more intentional form of engagement - slow looking. ATS explores how audio descriptions - traditionally used to support visually impaired visitors - are now becoming tools for everyone to connect more deeply with art. By encouraging focus, presence and emotional resonance, slow looking audio guides are aligning with 2025 trends around mindfulness, wellbeing and inclusive design. This thoughtful piece looks at how institutions can enhance accessibility while fostering richer, more reflective visitor experiences. https://lnkd.in/em59cc2x #Museums #AudioDescription #Accessibility #Wellbeing #SlowLooking #InclusiveDesign

  • Harry Danter, the owner of Barry Island Pleasure Park, has announced plans for a large-scale theme park near Cardiff Airport, aiming to transform South Wales into a major leisure destination. The proposed resort would include high-profile rides, entertainment, and on-site accommodation, designed to rival major UK attractions like Alton Towers. Danter’s vision builds on a decade of success at Barry Island, responding to rising demand for multi-day experiences in the region. By situating the park near Cardiff Airport, the development could bolster both local tourism and the struggling airport, delivering long-term economic benefits for the Vale of Glamorgan. With regional tourism valued at over £327 million in 2023, this ambitious project could significantly grow visitor numbers and create new jobs. Although in early planning stages, the proposal has drawn interest from local authorities and will now move into further feasibility and approval phases. If successful, this new attraction could place South Wales firmly on the map as one of the UK’s leading leisure destinations. https://lnkd.in/erpus2PP #ThemeParks #TourismDevelopment #SouthWales #UKAttractions #LeisureIndustry #CardiffAirport #DestinationDevelopment
