This year I am honoured to be nominated for 100 the most influential people in the events industry, Eventex. I would like to ask you to vote not for me personally, instead give your vote for work-life balance and working mums. Is work-life balance even possible in our industry? My strong belief is YES. The majority of our industry is represented by women, but do we have enough of support? This year I was blessed with my third baby, Andriy. I continued working until 37 weeks and now when he is 2 months old I would like to slowly come back to work. I will be returning to work so soon as I really love my job and think it will make me and my family happier. In our company ExpoPlatform I am following a standard, available for everyone - paid maternity leave policy, which allows mums to stay away from work for 6 months or up to 1 year. So, this year I was more behind the scenes and missed my must-attend events where we exhibited or/and provided our tech including UFI conferences, IMEX shows, Confex, the Meetings Show, ETL, GITEX, Frankfurt Bookfair and many others. Only a few trade shows have on-site child care facilities, allowing working mums to attend events without looking for their own ways of arranging child minding. We are a stressful and late hours working industry and become less attractive for a new generations of talents. I hope that every organiser, venue, event tech provider and all event players on the market can make one little step towards making the life of working mums easier and shift the work-life balance further towards equilibrium!
