  • 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗬𝗚 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗶𝗺 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 We send our warmest well wishes and fondest goodbyes as we bid farewell to Jim this week. Over to Jim now, for his words of thanks: "After 53 years, I have finally decided it is time to step away from the business that I started and have run my entire adult life – in the latter 18 years with Nick’s great help as Managing Director. "I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the people who have helped me in the business’s long and successful history, in particular Chris George, who joined me after a few months and played a huge role in working in credit control and becoming Joint Managing Director. "Thank you to all my fellow directors over the decades, all the managers, the sales people, and those working in admin, manufacturing, and those in installation. You’ve made it all possible and made me incredibly proud. "Creating a company that employed many, many hundreds of people over the years, including fathers and sons, brothers, sisters…and given so many people life time careers, has been one of the proudest achievements of my life. "I am proof that education is not a barrier to success, having left school with no qualifications and starting a business from my tiny house that to date has had a turnover in excess of £670m. "EYG is my baby, it is all I have ever known and it is an understatement to say that it has been an incredibly difficult decision to leave. "I have cherished memories of so many people, many of who have been critical to the success of the company and have been by my side for decades – there are too many to name individually but I am certain you all know who you are, and I thank you. "There have been highs and lows along the way but we’ve weathered the storm, and learnt and adapted to all of them, and there have been so many successes which we have enjoyed and celebrated. "My wife Linda has been behind me all the way and been very supportive and I wish to thank her for everything she has done for me, and raising our family while I was working hard, especially in the early years. "Finally, I wish Nick every success in the continued prosperity of EYG, and I know, having run it alongside me for many years and in recent years steering the ship, that it is in good hands. "I’ll continue to watch from afar as a proud grandfather of the company."

  • EYG's Trevor back on our screens! Trevor Bottomley, EYG's showroom sales staff, saw one of his dreams come true when he was given a spot on The Chase, facing Mark 'The Beast' Labbett and meeting Bradley Walsh, in a show aired on ITV1 last week. Trevor, who works out of our branch at Langlands Garden Centre in Shiptonthorpe near York, filmed the appearance last year but had to keep quiet about the result - sadly being beaten by The Beast after his team was down to just two. But they went down fighting with an impressive 17 correct answers and Trevor earning himself praise from Bradley for knowing a Tik Tok question despite being 86 years young! It capped off a number of media appearances by Trevor who hit the national news when he went back to work in his twilight years after losing his beloved wife. Pity about the result, but we thoroughly enjoyed watching you, well done Trevor!

  • It was fantastic to attend the AluK (GB) - The Experts in Aluminium stand at BAU in Munich, arguably Europe’s biggest and highest profile construction trade show. Our Domestic Sales Director John Waugh and Commercial Sales & Estimating Director Richard Saunders attended to hear about many exciting new products and innovations for customers of EYG. Many congratulations to the team at Aluk for what is a fantastic exhibition of product innovation and new technology in Aluminium.

  • These Christmas toys are on their way to the HU4 Community Trust charity, thanks to kind-hearted staff from two of our depots. Our Hull Installation Administrator Julie Gollagher has been volunteering in her spare time at Hull charity HU4 Community Trust for many years. The charity helps local residents with accessing food banks, health advice, a community cafe, and warm safe spaces. Julie often asks her colleagues at EYG for help, and was delighted when Linda Porter, administrator at our Newark branch, along with fitters from the depot, decided to cut down on their coffee spending and used the money to buy toys and books for HU4. Julie: "I had no idea that Linda and the team were doing this and it is a great gesture as many families simply can't afford to buy presents in the current climate. "HU4 Community Trust does fantastic work, from collections for Christmas to offering hot food and drinks. We'd be delighted to collect any more donations on their behalf." These toys will be given to families struggling to afford presents for their children this Christmas. Well done Julie, Linda and the team - and if you'd like to donate more to the collection, please feel free to bring them to our Hull showroom, and ask for Julie Gollagher, who will make sure they are delivered to HU4 in plenty of time ahead of the big day.

Teamwork makes Beal work! Two of our site managers were recently honoured with NHBC Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence Awards, with one also scooping the North East Regional Award in the Medium Builder category. These achievements would not have been possible without the incredible support from their dedicated site teams. To honor their hard work and commitment, we were thrilled to present the contractors we work with on each site with NHBC certificates recognising their exceptional contributions. #BealHomes #NewBuildHomes #NHBC #PrideInTheJob

  • We were delighted to recently exhibit once again at the Hobson & Porter Foundations event, a great initiative which aims to raise awareness of the career opportunities in the construction industry across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The event offers a chance for local pupils and trainees to meet employers and take their first steps towards being employed in the industry. It was fantastic to meet and speak to so many - and hopefully inspire some towards the one of the many great career opportunitiues the construction sector offers. #trainees #apprenticeships #careersinconstruction #glazing #yorkshire #lincolnshire #jobs
