On 26th September, at the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) AGM at the Royal College of Physicians, I was honoured to take on the role of President of FOM from my immediate predecessor, Prof. Steve Nimmo. Steve has had a great three years in the role, at a time of highly significant change and opportunity. I have now taken on the baton from him, and in the coming weeks we expect there will be further engagement with Government on improving health and work nationally. Our place in the FOM (together with other colleagues) as trusted advisors on work and health stems from the Faculty’s key purpose in advancing education and standards in occupational health delivery. The event on 26th September also celebrated the achievements of those winning prizes in the FOM examinations, including the Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DOccMed) and the new Diploma in Occupational Health Practice (DipOHPrac), those awarded the MFOM specialist qualification, and those elected to Fellowship of the FOM. Many congratulations to all. Dr Robin Cordell #OccupationalHealth #OccupationalMedicine #WorkplaceHealth
