The hidden benefit of remote work: It’s fair for introverts. Our CEO Tom is pretty introverted. He loves sitting down with a black coffee, noise-cancelling headphones, and getting work done. Not struggling to focus in a loud, noisy office. Not everyone is wired to want to be around people. And many leaders overlook this. So here’s a quick public service announcement to all managers: The games, small talk, and events you think energize people? Drain some people. Getting your team together can help... But they also need time alone, to focus. And remote work provides that. Agree?

A team member missed 2 hours of work and they didn't even let their manager know. Why? They were at lunch with a friend they never got to see. Did management get angry at them? Of course not. As long as the work is in hand, we don't care if our team dips out for a couple of hours. The thing is, when needed, that same team member works 2 hours longer. Why? Because they’re trusted to manage their work. When the work's in hand, we do lunch. When we’re needed, we put in the work. Trust breeds loyalty. Trust your team. Agree? Michael Twiddy

Success is a skill, not a miracle. Even if you love what you do there are always going to be things that have to be done to win. And those are exactly the kinds of things that the average and mediocre can’t get themselves to do. When it comes down to it success is something you earn by effort. You aren’t doing things no one else except you can do. You’re just: - Doing More - Doing it for longer - Being more consistent - Paying more attention to detail You don’t cut corners when others do. You don’t just work when others are watching because you know that when it comes time to compete if you haven’t put in the effort and attention to detail that someone else has, they’ll beat you. It’s the “doing what you don’t want to do” that puts you ahead of the others. They won’t do it. They can’t push themselves like you can. As a result, you have just a little more experience, skill and toughness. No one can tell – it doesn’t show – that is. It doesn’t show until the game is on; the pressure is on – winning time. While the winner works, the rest look for ways to get there naturally, with less effort. And the saying worker smarter not harder? It’s a fallacy. An internet guru term. Here’s the secret: The first step in working smarter is working harder, not less. Why? Because smarter only beats harder when smarter is working harder too. Remember Success is a skill, not a miracle. Do more and be more. P.S. If you want to learn how to unlock the keys to success check the links in the comments and join my course for winners!

Committing to a subscription can hurt your bottom line. Running an agency isn’t easy. One month you’re busy…the next? Quiet. This unpredictability can be tough. Many agencies chase subscription models. But not every service fits this approach. Design can work, but development? Here are 2 reasons why it may not be as effective: - You can’t predict your monthly revenue - Committing to a subscription can hurt your bottom line That’s why we focus on retainers. They pay a fixed fee each month for the work they need. It’s reliable and meets their needs. So, if you’re considering subscriptions, think again. A retainer might be the better fit. But here at Fireart Studio, we can cater to all your needs. If you want to learn more about which model works for you drop me a DM!

“Yeah, but how do you make sure they’re working?” The football game is about to kick off and Tom’s teammate is asking about remote management. Tom turns to him and says: “I don’t need to make sure anyone is doing anything.” He’s confused. When you run a people-first business, the responsibility lies with the individual. That’s their job. We don’t need to control anyone. We hire people who understand this and what they need to do. If they produce the outcomes, awesome. If not, we have a robust performance management process. The micromanagers? They don’t understand… they’re too busy tracking their team. Making their lives hell. That must be exhausting. Less control. More trust. Agree?

The best thing about remote work: Commuting is a thing of the past. One of our team members used to commute 90 minutes a day. That's: - 15 hours a week - 33 days a year This time is now re-invested back into things that matter: - Health - Family - Fun But it’s not just about the time… 10 years ago, commuting used to be the most stressful part of Tom Hunt’s day: - 10-minute walk - 5 minutes wait at the train station - 10 minutes crammed on the train - 5-minute wait on the tube platform - 5 minutes crammed on the tube - 5-minute rushed, busy walk to the office It may not sound much… but it takes mental energy. Mental energy that can be better invested into or outside of work. Remote work doesn’t just change where you work. It changes how you work. More balance, less hustle. Agree?

One thing everyone tells you: Find the thing you love to do and you won’t work a day in your life. Supposedly this is meant to be a life of nothing but happiness and joy. You’ll have a big smile on your face from the time you get up until you turn in late at night. But in reality, that’s only half the truth. First: No matter what you do in life, there are going to be parts you don’t enjoy. No one gets to do what they want to do. It’s a fallacy of life. Secondly: People may love what they do but only some have the drive and focus to make money doing it. Only: - Actors - Artists - Athletes - Musicians Avoid a day job. I remember once a vice president in Asheville, N.C. told me he loved playing golf, but he decided to give it up for a couple of years and focus on his career. He realized, that if he did well, he would be able to play all the golf he wanted for the rest of his life. The funny thing about people is that they enjoy doing things they’re good at. When you’re good you: - Stand out - Feel good - Help people - Make progress  Find the place where you can have the most success with your personality and skills. Look for things that inspire your curiosity. That’s where you’ll find success.
