It was a privilege to co-host GCs and other in-house legal leaders from some of Canada’s most dynamic organizations with the National GC Network earlier this week. From the insightful CPD session featuring some of our very own, to wine tasting and delectable treats, there were many great ‘Tricks & Treats’ to take away from this spectacular event. The diversity in the room was a true testament not only to the NGCN’s fantastic work in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion values within organizations and the wider legal community, but also to the progress the legal profession as a whole has made in elevating these values. Recognizing that there is still much more to be done, Fasken’s Empower Network – the Firm’s umbrella affinity network of racialized legal professionals – will continue to champion and promote EDI within Fasken and beyond. Thank you to everyone who joined us, whether at our Toronto office or virtually, on Monday evening! #Fasken #EDI #GeneralCounsel #InHouseCounsel
Yesterday’s 'Tricks & Treats' for the Busy GC event was full of practical tips, delicious food and beverage, and great company! Fasken’s Empower Network members Rahat Godil, Zohaib Maladwala, Andrew Alleyne and Andrew Nunes shared practical tips regarding contract interpretation in commercial contracts, corrective action plans in limiting a manufacturer’s exposure for product defects, precautions to address cyber outages, and contracting for AI solutions. National GC Network’s Executive Committee member Jeanette Lee was Somm-for-a-Night. She led a fun and educational wine tasting, pairing the wines and zero proof alternatives with delicious food from Ma-Ro Catering | Food + Events. The treats continued as attendees left with One More Cocoa Inc bon bons. Thank you to Fasken for hosting, and to Jack (Huazhou) Yu, Pritika Deepak, Jennifer Pitt, CMP and Joyce Ng for organizing! Thank you to NGCN's Events and Partnerships Committee chair Leola Pon for envisioning and spearheading this creative-themed event! Thank you to everyone who joined us online and in person! We look forward to seeing you soon! #GeneralCounsel #SeniorLegalLeaders #InHouseCounsel #IBPOC #BIPOC
