Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios has been shortlisted for Retail and Leisure Architect of the Year. Earlier this year BD announced all the architects who made it on to the shortlists for our prestigious annual Architect of the Year Awards. Now we are shining the spotlight on each category in turn and publishing a selection of the images that impressed the judges. The practice’s submission includes the ambitious Eden Earthworks, a proposed regenerative transformation of the Dundee Gasworks into a place where people can learn from, and reconnect with, nature. In Brighton, it has revitalised the Grade I listed Brighton Dome Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre, while in Cardiff, the Llanishen and Lisvane Reservoir Centre provides a two storey larch-clad hub for recreational visitors. https://lnkd.in/ez8bk8bU #architecture #AYAs #AYAs20in24 Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios)

We’re pleased to announce that the University of Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus has officially topped out. This is a landmark project which not only honours the site’s rich history but also represents a major investment in the future of Bristol and its people. Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus is the most significant development in the University of Bristol's recent history. It will soon be home to 4,600 students, 650 staff, and key research institutes, creating opportunities for all of Bristol to engage with world-class research, education, and civic programmes. The site has a fascinating, many-layered history, having once been home to a cattle market, colourworks factory, and Royal Mail sorting office—and even hosting illegal raves during its derelict years. Regeneration and reinvention have always been central to its story, and this latest iteration continues that legacy, transforming it into a dynamic resource for the community. Designed with the city and its people at its heart, the campus will create new public spaces, enhance urban connectivity, and provide accessible facilities for everyone. It will serve as a hub for collaboration, innovation, and learning—driving partnerships that benefit not only the university but also the wider city. The campus will be open and inclusive, fostering community engagement and making a positive contribution to Bristol’s regeneration. This project exemplifies the University’s commitment to creating a lasting, positive impact for the city and its residents, fostering a space where the past and future meet to serve the community. We look forward to sharing more progress soon. Explore more here: https://lnkd.in/euBSxHRH Sir Robert McAlpine University of Bristol Grant Associates AECOM Buro Happold NG Bailey Arup JLL SOCOTEC

Honoured to be a part of the Sir Robert McAlpine topping out ceremony (with bagpipes!) for the University of Bristol #TQA1 building today. A project that has been part of my life for the last 5 years at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios). Also really excited to see the first curtain wall panels on site, ready to be lifted into place next week. The next phase of this incredible building begins!

The transformation of a former flaxmill and brewery into a social enterprise hub, workspace and leisure destination was awarded a double win at last night's Architectsjournal Retrofit & Reuse Awards. A fantastic recognition of a project which balanced preserving the past with embracing the future in a light-touch, sustainable and sensitive repair and adaptive reuse to prepare the building for the next 100 years of its life. Congratulations too, to Historic England - named as Client of the Year for their role in saving and giving new life to the derelict flaxmill. And to the wider team for their work on this remarkable project. AKT II
