It was a privilege to join the Assistant Cluster Managers from Saffron Building Society for their Leadership & Management showcase presentations yesterday. The group successfully completed their bespoke Leadership & Management course with First Intuition, presenting the progress and changes they have implemented as managers and leaders since starting the course in November 2023. There was an overwhelming sense of achievement from the employees who took the course, and pride from their managers for just how much their skills and confidence had grown in a year. We can't wait to watch how the group continue to grow and develop as leaders 🙌 You can find more information about First Intuition's bespoke L&M courses by clicking the link below or contacting Angie Heaney. https://lnkd.in/eAJrrGxh

  • As the dust settles since Kier Starmer's speech at the Labour Party Conference a few weeks ago, Gareth John, Director at First Intuition reflects on the announcement that they would be rebalancing apprenticeship levy funding to young people. Including the plan to reduce the number of level 7 apprenticeships that would be eligible for levy funding. Key reasons why this would seriously impact the young people in the accountancy profession include: - Since 2017 when the levy was introduced, over 70% of learners on the level 7 accounting/taxation professional standard have been aged 24 or below - Around 90% have been aged 30 or below - 85% of Level 7 accountancy apprentices attended a state school Furthermore, - 83% of non-levy employers employ a greater number of accountancy trainees because of Level 7 funding - 94% of employers say that supporting new accountancy trainees under apprenticeships is an important way to address the lack of experienced, qualified accountants - 94% of apprentices said the potential to progress to complete Level 7 was an important reason they started their accountancy training The level 7 standard in accountancy plays an important role in breaking down barriers to opportunity to a professional career that used to be far less inclusive prior to the introduction of the levy. It has helped drive a transformation in access for ambitious young people and this in turn has hugely improved diversity. Read more about Gareth's thoughts on the topic in an article on FE News: https://lnkd.in/ebSHnXSa
