At Flo, we’re committed to building a future where female health comes first, and every woman, regardless of her location and economic status, feels heard and supported. Over the past two years, we’ve given free access to Flo Premium through our Pass It On project, reaching women in 65 countries, including India, Indonesia, and Nigeria. Today, Pass It On supports nearly 17 million women worldwide. But how do we measure success? In our ongoing research, we're measuring the impact of Pass It On across various health domains. These areas include improvements in health knowledge, changes in overall health and well-being, reductions in stigma and concerns about body image, and increased awareness of sexual education and STIs. The preliminary results after at least three months of using the Flo app are promising: Levels of female health knowledge are 25% higher Awareness of menstrual health is 10% higher The stigma around menstrual bleeding is 11% lower These numbers speak louder than words, and we aim to share the full research results in the coming months. "I now know my cycle, how long it lasts, I know possible reasons why I get certain symptoms and how to go about them. Thank you Flo " Flo Pass It On Member, Uganda This is just the beginning. We all know knowledge is power, and we aim to Pass It On to empower one billion women worldwide. Learn more about the Pass It On campaign: https://lnkd.in/dMKq38DP

“A recent randomized controlled trial demonstrated users of Flo benefited from improved health literacy. And that might be just as important as direct benefits of the app. [...] In other words, users of Flo didn’t just get the benefits of period tracking and prediction, but a better understanding of their bodies and women’s health in general.” Thank you to James Stables at Wareable for highlighting the importance of arming users with medically accurate information and understanding. When Dmitry Gurski and I opened our first London office of 12 desks back in 2021 we cut the ribbon wrapped around a £170 beer fridge and felt fancy. This is why it was such a joy for me to open the third London HQ of Flo Health Inc. along with the physical and visceral sense of growth, progress and togetherness it brings. This time truly reflecting who we are, what we stand for and what a real working home feels like. Ya'll - it's a real beaut. Thank you Roman Bugaev & Anna Klepchukova for being reliable ribbon-bearers! ("just don't mess this one up!" 😅 )

We are thrilled to announce the results of our first randomized controlled trial (RCT) - the gold standard of testing - which highlights the impact of the Flo app on women's health literacy and well-being. Our results 👇 After 12 weeks, participants who used Flo experienced significantly greater improvements in several health and wellbeing measures, compared with those in the control group who did not use the app. Using Flo for three months improved: - Health literacy - Menstrual health awareness - Health and wellbeing scores - Feelings of control and management over health - Communication about health - Menstrual cycle stigma - Fear of unplanned pregnancies For users with PMS/PMDD, using Flo for three months led to: - Lower self-reported symptom burden - Less time off work or education - More knowledge about PMS/PMDD Our mission at Flo is to build a better future for female health. Helping women and people who menstruate understand their own body is central to this. We’re proud of our Science team and their academic collaborators Sarah Hill, Liisa Hantsoo and Jennifer Payne for putting Flo to the test and proving the benefits of using the Flo app. Find out more about the results here: https://lnkd.in/gdEZRtHt

Ever wondered how menstrual cycles and related symptoms change with age? As part of Flo's Science team's commitment to researching understudied women's health topics, our most recent study has uncovered a groundbreaking insight: from age 45 onwards, women experience a dramatic increase in cycle length and variability. Published in the highly reputable Scientific Reports of Nature Portfolio, this study is not only the largest of its kind, drawing on insights from 19 million women, but it’s also one of the very few menstrual cycle studies to include women aged 45+. Flo's study was conducted in partnership with Dr. Pal Lubna Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Yale School of Medicine. Adam Cunningham PhD, Ph.D., Senior Research Scientist at Flo and lead study author, noted: “It was surprising how little research there is about women’s cycles and symptoms, with most research stopping at 40 or 45 years of age. At Flo, we are in a prime position to help address this knowledge gap given that we have the largest dataset when it comes to women's menstrual cycle patterns and symptoms. Advancing our understanding of female reproductive health is a core part of our mission and with this research we are one step closer to closing this knowledge gap.” For more information about this study, please visit our Science News page: https://lnkd.in/ekH68s6C
