🛠️ Ever noticed how an app just feels effortless to use? Buttons are where you expect them, colors and fonts are always consistent, and everything just… works. That’s not by accident - it’s by design. With millions of users and countless screens, we needed a way to keep everything visually seamless without endless manual work. So, we built a system that lets us update one design element and apply it everywhere automatically. 🔗 Check out Part 2 of our Flo Design System series by Sasha Zinchuk 💡 What’s inside? ✔ How automation keeps design consistent across the Flo app ✔ Why we built our system on Style Dictionary ✔ How this saves time, reduces errors, and makes your experience smoother #DesignSystems #UX #ProductDesign #FloHealth #Tech #PrivacyByDesign

Are periods TMI? We don’t think so, and neither does our community. We know that the more women talk about their health with confidence, the less taboo these topics become. To celebrate International Women’s Day – and to prove this point – the Flo team took to the streets of London. We wanted to bring to life what happens every day in Flo’s community, Secret Chats — honest, supportive, judgment-free discussions about everything from period problems to menopause moments. Armed with copies of "TMI – The Menstrual Issue," we sparked conversations that are usually kept behind closed doors, showing that when women share experiences on their terms, everyone benefits. The response on London's streets mirrored what we see in our community—relief, connection, and the powerful realization that "I'm not the only one." Over 7 million women engage with over 1,000+ health topics in Secret Chats, proving its value as a safe space where women can create and lead their own conversations around their health without other members knowing who they are. Because the way our bodies work should never be taboo. Find out more about joining our growing movement of open dialogue at Flo.health #IWD #FloHealth #femtech #femalehealth #femalemedicalresearch

We’re thrilled to share our science team's recent findings on the factors influencing women’s sexual experiences and satisfaction ❤️🔥 Here’s what we found: 🗓️ Logging matters: more frequent logging of sexual activity was linked to better sexual response scores, with frequent logging of orgasms and sensual touch being key drivers. 🎉 Age is just a number: contrary to common beliefs, women over 35 reported higher orgasm scores and less pain during sex than younger women, challenging aging stereotypes. 💡 Having uterine fibroids was linked with lower sexual response scores due to increased pain, while conditions like PCOS showed no impact. Our research, published in the npj Women’s Health, was conducted with over 2,300 Flo app users in collaboration with Yale School of Medicine, aims to shed light on common sexual health issues faced by women, such as arousal difficulties and pain during intercourse. See the results of our study in detail and understand more about sexual response scores here: https://lnkd.in/eRYufpzp Or, read the study in full in the journal npj Women’s Health here: https://lnkd.in/eJ2jDj7H #femtech #femalehealth #femalemedicalresearch #flohealth

We're excited to announce that our Director of Science, Liudmila Zhaunova, was featured on NBCUniversal's TODAY Show this morning shedding light on the groundbreaking findings from Flo's latest perimenopause study 📺 Our research reveals that women between 30 and 40 are experiencing menopause-related symptoms symptoms, often without realizing it. Many assume they're too young for these changes, leading to years of silent suffering. The alarming truth? Most women don't seek medical help until they reach their mid-50s 🤯 A huge congratulations to Flo's Science team for uncovering these pivotal insights. Your work is helping to break the silence and ensure that no woman faces this transition alone 💪 Catch the full segment to understand the key findings and how they're changing the conversation around women's health: https://lnkd.in/ezCn8_8f

When do perimenopause symptoms start and how will they change over time? To find out, Flo’s Science team conducted a study with 4,432 women aged 30 and over in the US. The study has been published in npj Women’s Health and reveals surprising new insights about perimenopause: 🧐 Symptoms often start earlier than expected: 55.4% of women aged 30-35 and 64.3% of women aged 36-40 reported moderate to severe perimenopause-related symptoms. 🧠 The pattern of symptoms differs with age: mood symptoms peak in early perimenopause (ages 41-45), while physical symptoms are more prevalent in women aged 51-55. 🏥 Despite widespread symptoms, the peak for visiting a doctor about these symptoms doesn’t happen until women reach 56 and beyond. In a field where less than 1% of medical research focuses on menopause, our findings pave the way for improved support and care during this crucial life transition. Congratulations to our science team for bridging this critical knowledge gap and empowering women with vital information about their health! See our full press release as well as our science news brief in the comments.
