Why do people feel compelled to follow trends? What has worked for someone else will not necessarily bring you the same outcome, instead you might end up feeling lost, frustrated, directionless and disappointed. To make matters worse it impacts your self-confidence and only takes you further away from your purpose. You begin to question if you are doing it all wrong. The comparisonitis hits you hard. The real question is who is the driving force behind your creativity - the trends, or YOU? Joanna Rawbone, the Flourishing Introvert and Szebastian Onne G. S., the Intention Strategist, share different perspectives on the aptly named show, Not Just Lip Service - inviting you to carve and walk your own path with confidence. We broadcast LIVE on Dreamaniac TV's YouTube and LinkedIn Channels at 7 PM London tonight | 6 AM Sydney this morning. In Edition 37 of The Flourishing Nudge, Joanna Rawbone shares a very personal and meaningful curiosity we all experience at some stage or other of our lives. Joanna says, "This weekend brought a double whammy of loss – a dear friend’s first heavenly birthday and a brilliant colleague’s final breath. Oh my heart wasn't ready for this! And yet, instead of sinking into sadness, it prompted a powerful question: what does it truly mean to live life to the full? I realised I’ve been asking this of others, but not truly of myself. So, I’m embracing my quandary, staying curious, and finding my way. It’s not about answers, but clarity. If you’ve ever wondered what “living fully” means to you, let’s explore it together!" Weekend for me is a time of reflection and reconnection with my inner-being. As I sit down with myself I reflect on my week - What did I gain? What did I learn? What can I do better given the opportunity? Reflection for me is a purposeful way of recharging while fortifying myself using the tools from within my toolbox. It helps me nurture my heart and mind, while understanding myself a little better based on the most recent events of the past week. It is how most of us introverts replenish our energy while reconnecting with who we truly are. Do not fall into the trap of allowing this reflection to become critical overthinking. The point is not to start thinking 'Oh, I could have said that better' for something I did not handle well. Hindsight as they say is 20:20 vision, but we live in the present, not the past. It is about understanding where I am right now and how I want my next week to go, all the while quietly celebrating my learning as I grow. And, I will uphold a promise to a very recently departed friend and colleague to 'live every moment of the life we've been gifted'. I suggest you sit down with pen and paper (or your equivalent) so as you allow your mind to wander, your imagination to take flight, and your emotions to ripple through your whole being, you can capture some of your thoughts, learnings, aspirations. Note also the things you are grateful for, grieve what is lost, celebrate what is earned and recalibrate to be more you for the coming time. Let these reflections be your loyal friend, your mentor who gives you a little hug of reassurance while also guiding you to align with your purpose. Reflection is reconnection, reconciliation and resurgence from within. We all need a little bit of that, now more than ever before. Quietly, and reflectively yours -Joanna #Reflection #SelfAwareness #Introspection #LifeLessons #Growth #Friends #Introverts #FlourishingIntroverts #Thinking

Frustration of introvert strengths being undervalued by others - suppressed by ourselves - because extravert ideal. Ugh! Tonight at 7 PM London, I am asking - 'Can't I just be ME?' - a sassy introvert? https://lnkd.in/enZVm8C6 #Introverts #IntrovertStrengths #AuthenticallyIntroverted #InclusiveLeadership #IntrovertInclusive #FlourishingIntroverts #FlourishingNuggets #DEI #Inclusivity

Ah, what a relaxing weekend this has been. Unexpected as it may be, we are having a bit of an Indian Summer here bringing the much needed calm and beautiful warm sunshine. So my accountability buddies and I decided to make hay while the sun shines and went down on the beach in Deal. It is beautiful when the weather, mindset and company we are in all work in a symphony of calm, inspiring and reflective synergy - and you know me, I am all about the gentle, quiet, and reflective deep dive into our quiet strengths. It is important that we make the most of positive moments and events in our lives, be they unexpected or planned. These moments not only become beautiful memories to be nostalgic over in the future but also work as a little bank of motivation when winds are extreme and the waves rough. It helps us remember how we got to those beautiful moments in the first place, as well as give us a little booster shot of gratitude within. And you know how I see gratitude as a catalyst to genuinely positive energy that recharges our heart, mind and body. Heck, I'll go one step further and say, write a journal entry of these moments so you can come back to them when your spirits are not as strong in moments of setback or hardship. Celebrate the moments that bring you joy and fulfilment as they are happening so you can derive strength from them when the tide feels unfavourable. Let’s live in the now of these uplifting experiences. You deserve them … Because you earned them. Quietly, and gratefully yours -Joanna #LiveInTheMoment #ThisMomentMatters #IndianSummer #Mindset #Memories #CelebrateNOW #Introverts #FlourishingIntroverts #Recharge

If we bury our head in the sand like ostriches are reported to do, we negatively impact the engagement and commitment of our people. Although there's an interesting lesson leaders can learn from Ostriches and Joanna Rawbone dives into the misconception we have about Ostriches burying their head in the sand. Tune-in here to find out why they really do it and what lesson can the leaders learn from them. - https://lnkd.in/gp-Jn22a #Introverts #FlourishingIntroverts #IntrovertedLeaders #InclusiveLeadership #DutyOfCare #TeamCare

Now, we're all human and our behaviour isn’t always perfect. We have bad days and when stressed, we can act in ways we're not proud of. The real test comes with what we do about the inconsistency or incongruence. If we bury our head in the sand like ostriches are reported to do, we negatively impact the engagement and commitment of our people. Ironically, and for the sake of accuracy, ostriches are actually dropping their heads into their ground based nests to rotate the eggs so they thrive. There's a lesson in there for leaders and managers. Tune-in to 'Ep 237 - Inclusivity - but HOW?' for a deeper dive right here. - https://lnkd.in/eB6dxgPJ #Introverts #FlourishingIntroverts #IntrovertedLeaders #InclusiveLeadership #DutyOfCare #TeamCare #Trust #WorkplaceCulture #PsychologicalSafety
