We're in the middle of the transformation of our new Charity Home in Clifton, which we will move into later this year, and will be the first time in our history that we have control of our own site. Work is well underway and we're working with some fantastic organisations on this exciting project, including Blueprint Interiors Ltd. and Gleeds. We appreciate all of the organisations from the East Midlands who have supported us with their time, expertise, services and products. Over the weekend, we took delivery of a large amount of paint and painting equipment, donated by Johns of Nottingham Ltd, and last week received a large amount of plaster, donated by British Gypsum with the help of Ryan Seeley. We also received a brand new washing machine and dryer, arranged and delivered by our Charity Partner John Pye. We're so grateful for these incredibly generous donations, which mean that we're able to use our valuable funds for the services we provide for children and families living with disabilities. We’re so excited for our new Footprints Centre and the many opportunities it will bring for our children and families, the community around us, and the organisations we're connected to now and will be in the future. We appreciate everyone's incredible support with the transformation👣 #eastmidlandscharity #footprintscentre #charitytransformation

Nottingham charity for children & families living with disabilities, transforming lives through Conductive Education
About us
A a Nottingham-based service that supports children living with mobility and communication difficulties (including cerebral palsy and Down Syndrome) and their families through the principles and practice of Conductive Education, a holistic method that views the ‘whole child’. We teach children living with disabilities practical skills that can help develop their independence and prepare them for the future. These include communication, movement and posture, and problem-solving. We try and build ‘everyday’ activities into our sessions, so children also learn things like eating, drinking and playing. The parent or carer attends with the child to learn techniques to use at home, and get tips and emotional support from the team and other families.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Footprints Celebration Dinner last night at Alea Casino Nottingham! 🎉 We had such an amazing evening, and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate our achievements over the last year and thank everyone who has made this possible. Huge thanks to everyone who came, including our Charity and Support Partners, families, trustees, volunteers, ambassadors and all of our supporters. Thank you to everyone for being so generous, as we fundraised for the year ahead with an exciting prize draw, silent auction and after dinner games…we’ll let you know how much we’ve raised next week. Our Celebration Dinner was a special opportunity to celebrate our achievements together, make new connections, and say thank you to everyone who supports Footprints, and the children and families we provide our services for. We also made some very special announcements which we'll be sharing on here very soon... Very special thanks to our volunteers Joanne Powell, Fran, Teresa Pilkington, Shelby, Shellie W., photographer Levi, and our Footprints team who all worked so hard to make sure the event was a success. We’ll be sharing lots more photos soon, and more details of the amazing organisations who donated prize draw and auction prizes. It's time for Easter Eggs! 🐣 We would like to say a huge thank you to AC Wollaton who delivered Easter eggs for our children to our new centre, during one of our recent Volunteer days. As well as helping to paint our new centre, Luca and Joanna from AC Wollaton brought over the Easter eggs, including a number of free from eggs, so suitable and inclusive for our children who have food allergies. And here's Donny enjoying his dairy free Easter egg after his #conductiveeducation session yesterday! A huge thank you to Roberto Pietraforte and everyone at AC Wollaton for their support, it’s fantastic to work with you! #eastmidlandscharity #footprintsfamilies #charitypartner

Today is national #cerebralpalsyawarenessday across the UK 💚 Some of the children we support at Footprints live with Cerebral Palsy, and we're proud to support and mark the day. We provide transformative services and support to children and young people living with mobility and communication difficulties across the East Midlands. Our work is inspired by the principles and practices of #ConductiveEducation, a holistic education approach developed to help children with disabilities consciously learn the life skills that come more naturally to others. When asked about Footprints, one of our families told us their son "has defied the odds in his physical development going from strength to strength and we have learned to have a much more positive outlook – we now talk about “when” rather than “if” and never lose hope." We provide a safe, positive and supportive environment, and our work encourages the development of physical, communication, social, sensory, self-help and thinking skills. You can find out more about our charity, our services and how to work with us on our website (link in bio). Cerebral Palsy Foundation #eastmidlandscharity #cerebralpalsy #CPawareness

Last Thursday we attended Visit Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards, as we were shortlisted for the Accessible and Inclusion Award. Held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham Venues, our Head of Income and Fundraising Josie Park and Business and Charity Manager Stephen Frew 🦽 represented Footprints and had a fantastic evening, a great opportunity to raise awareness of our charity and how to work with us. We were delighted to be awarded a Silver Award in the Accessible and Inclusion Award category, and are looking forward to proudly displaying this at our new Clifton site! We've been a member of Visit Notts since the start of 2024, and this has enabled us to connect and network with a wide range of organisations across the East Midlands, raising our awareness and creating new partnerships, and reaching more families. #EnglishTourismWeek25 #eastmidlandscharity #accessiblityandinclusion

Today is #worlddownsyndromeday, and as we do every year, we have loved celebrating at our centre! Yesterday we took our children who attend #conductiveeducation sessions on a Thursday for a picnic lunch together, and of course, we rocked our odd socks! 💙💛 And on Monday, we celebrated with our older children who come to our dedicated Speech and Communication sessions. We're proud to support and provide our transformative services to children and families who live with mobility and communication difficulties, and a range of disabilities and needs, including Down Syndrome. You can find out more about our charity and the transformative services we provide on our website (link in comments). About World Down Syndrome Day This is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012 and is celebrated on 21 March every year. The date being the 21st day of the 3rd month, chosen to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. On a very sunny day, we welcomed over 20 people for our second volunteer day this month, at our new Clifton site. Thank you to everyone who came today for their time and hard work, which has made a huge difference to our new centre. Our volunteers spent time painting some of the areas which have been plastered, and continuing the transformation of our new charity home. And our volunteers even managed a picnic lunch in the sun! ☀️ We’re so excited for our new Footprints Centre and the many opportunities it will bring for our children and families and appreciate everyone's incredible support in helping with the transformation👣 If you're interested in coming along to our next Volunteer day Tuesday 1 April, or being part of our exciting transformation project, please contact our team at enquiries@footprintscec.org. #eastmidlandscharity #footprintsvolunteers #charityhome

One of our families is taking part in an epic fundraising challenge at the start of May! Lauren and friends will be taking part in an incredible 24 Hours Exercise Challenge, held at The Fitness Box in Mansfield. They're fundraising for Footprints, and Lauren, who is one of our parents and Mum to Luther, told us... "I wanted to take part in this challenge to show my gratitude for all the support we’ve received from Footprints. For us, it’s not just been about helping Luther progress physically (although it might have started that way), but also the emotional and social support that’s received by having regular contact with families in similar situations and being able to share knowledge. The kids are encouraged by seeing their peers succeed and it’s great to see the smiles on their faces." Thank you for taking on this amazing challenge and raising money for our charity. If you’re thinking about taking on an individual or team fundraising challenge, we would love to hear from you! Email us at enquiries@footprintscec.org and find out how we could work together, and truly make a difference. #eastmidlandscharity #footprintsfundraising
