What an amazing time we had at the first official screening of Contact Hours last week - it was great to see so many faces there! It has been such a pleasure to support Harry Richards and Rufus Love with this project - and we don't just hope, but we KNOW that this film will help so many individuals to have life saving conversations 💛 The film will be touring UK universities next year, so if you would like to hear more about this do get in touch. Congratulations 👏 🙏

Advocating for Change at UK Universities. Students are owed a duty of care | ForThe100.
About us
Students are entitled to be well treated, something which is currently optional not mandatory. Each year, tragically, 100 students take their own lives whilst at university and 100s more fall victim to other forms of harm; with sexual assault also reaching epidemic levels. In far too many of these cases, students are abandoned by a system that should have provided a safer educational environment. Through our movement, we are advocating for a statutory duty of care for students at university; schools, workplaces and prisons already have it. Our goal is for higher education institutions to tact reasonably and responsibly to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of their students and to be held accountable if they don’t. So far, our campaign has achieved significant momentum. 128, 292 supporters signed our Parliamentary Petition and a debate was held in parliament earlier this year. Yet, FE and HE Minister Robert Halfon concluded that he would not be bringing in a statutory duty of care for university students, so the fight is not over. We're not just mums, dads, siblings, friends, and families. We're advocates fighting for student safety and wellbeing, standing up for those who've been lost, harmed and those who are still at risk. Join us in this crucial fight. Let's ensure that student safety becomes a 'legal must', not an option. Together, we can make a difference. ForThe100.

Hi everyone 💛 Earlier this week was #WorldSuicidePreventionDay so we want to spread some awareness for a very special project: Contact Hours. This 25-minute short film centres around student suicide and difficult familial relationships, with the aim of starting important conversations and saving lives. We want to especially thank Harry Richards and Rufus Love for putting together such an amazing project - we can’t wait for the world to see it. Our very own Summer Lytton Cobbold also was part of the team for this shoot! Make sure to show your support for this project by following their page 💛🙏🏼 #ForThe100 #ContactHours #shortfilm

Help uncover the truth. 💜 💜 What would you do if you suddenly had to raise £60k in 6 weeks Please spread the word and share this.. 📢 Anu, a bright and ambitious 21-year-old student, faced relentless bullying and racism during his placement with West Yorkshire Police. He reached out to Leeds Trinity University for support, but they did not address his concerns. Tragically, Anu took his own life. If these institutions won’t protect their own students and staff, how can we trust them to protect the public? We’re fighting for a full inquest to uncover the systemic failures that led to his death. While the universities and police have state-funded lawyers, The family have to raise £60,000 to get legal representation. 🤝Please donate and share 🤝 help us seek justice for Anu and ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. https://lnkd.in/eze-QnAY #JusticeForAnugrah #SupportTheTruth #AccountabilityNow ForThe100, Andy McCulloch, Paul Vittles, Jen Moon, Dr Jo Burrell, 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 From Maggie Abrahart 6 years ago it was me fundraising for an inquest and thanks to the generous donations our lawyers helped to identify neglect by the local mental health trust. we went on to sue the university and this year a judge rued that breaches of the equality act contributed to her death. these things only happened because we had lawyers asking questions at Natasha's inquests Please support Anu's family to do the same at his inquest.. We need to wipe out bad practice, bullying and systems that destroy hope. 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜

What an amazing day at the #ZeroSuicideSociety #JoinTheDotsTour launch conference in Scunthorpe! We heard from a number of incredibly inspiring individuals about the work that’s being done nationwide to prevent suicide. The strength it takes to share some of the stories we heard today is truly remarkable. A huge thank you to Paul Vittles and Steve Phillip from The Jordan Legacy for organising this event and the ongoing tour. You truly are joining the dots between each and every angle of suicide prevention 💛🤞🏼💪🏼 (It would be great to get LinkedIn with anyone we met today so do send us a message!) #forthe100 #suicideprevention #dutyofcare
