💡 Speaking at AntiCon I wanted to close with that most dangerous of things: a prediction for the future of marketing. My prediction is that the marketing strategy you build to address customer behaviour today, will need to be thrown out of the window in a year's time. Okay, that's slightly extreme. But the point remains the same: customer behaviour, and in particular the way people gather information when making a purchase decision, is evolving so quickly that you need to adopt a mindset of reappraising your customer strategy continuously and not on trying to find that magic formula. Yes, that makes the role of marketing more challenging but this also means that we are seeing more and more uncontested space when it comes to winning over new and lapsed customers. As ever, first-movers tend to win out.

📢 Monday appreciation post 📢 On Friday I was lucky to attend Operations Nation's their annual conference for ops leaders, by ops leaders with Nasreen. I have never been in a room exclusively for people who work in operations and let me tell you, it was incredible. To quote Filip Szczecinski, at the heart of it, our roles are to make life easier for our teams - so imagine what it's like getting all of those people in a room together! They covered everything from leveraging AI to scale Ops to showing VCs the power of #operationalexcellence. But the talk that I've been thinking about most was the one of how to navigate a squiggly Ops careers path hosted by Charlene Chen. A few weeks ago I celebrated 14 years with Tomorrow and Found. and I've been reflecting ALOT. The key takeaways for anyone that's new in their #ops career: ▶ Take every opportunity that you can - my role started as an admin assistant but evolved from taking chances and being curious. 🌿 Be open to different ways of growing - from client services to marketing to service delivery, these all presented opportunities for me to learn new skills. ⚙ The importance on delivery and execution is high so make sure the things you do, you do with care and attention. 💡 Explore things that are interesting to you and you will grow. 🚪 Setting boundaries is key. The earlier you can start this, the easier it will be. 📋 Organisation and prioritisation are essential skills to develop. Today was the final of Digital Disruptors 2024 at PI LIVE Show, and wow, what a day it was! 💥 From 38 talented young people who took part in this year's programme - exploring everything from PPC, SEO, and influencer marketing to fashion, AI, and confidence training—today was the day of reckoning! 7 initial teams were narrowed down to 3 finalists who took to the Rakuten Advertising stage to compete in front of a panel of judges for the title of Digital Disruptors Champions 2024. 🎯 It takes real courage to get up in front of an audience, especially at such a young age (14-17) and on such a big stage too! Every single participant did themselves proud. We set the challenge for the teams to present their ideas to “Create an engaging solution to promote sustainable fashion in the online fashion community.” Each team worked so hard in the lead up to the final and delivered their ideas so well on the day. Check them out: 👗 EcoChic: An AI-powered virtual wardrobe assistant promoting sustainable fashion for a new generation. 🌿 Nature Stitch: Fashionable, eco-friendly clothing, ensuring fair wages and sustainable practices. ♻️ Revamp It: Tackling fashion waste with an innovative app that helps users repurpose their wardrobe using AI and AR. 🏆 After much deliberation, it was a close call, but Revamp It edged it and were crowned our Digital Disruptors champions!
