Our commitment to mixed-methods systematic reviews was essential here: these principles were largely drawn from bringing together qualitative research studies with kinship families in the UK, plus studies of implementation of services. Our Practice Guides bring together both high-quality impact evaluation evidence on 'what works' with other types of evidence that shines a light on families' needs, preferences and experiences.
