We had an incredible Monday evening celebrating International Women's Day at adidas Runners London and Friday Night Lights. The event featured a post-run workout led by the amazing Shakira Akabusi. A big thank you to Georgina and Emma Guthrie for leading this fantastic session and to Hannah Hamshere, Ayo Dada, and the adidas UK team for organizing such a memorable celebration of International Women's Day. Here are some pictures from the evening, captured by Daniel Hamshere. Just back from our first session with Friday Night Lights. Exciting to combine their big speakers and positivity with our big task to rebuild a community garden by the Tower of London. Sunshine, loads of people doing something new and getting about 8 tonnes of earth shifted with a goal of increasing biodiversity: perfect start to the weekend. Nice one to all at Friday Night Lights for getting stuck in and to Grounded Ecotherapy for all your amazing work. Loved this morning 😀😀

I am looking for a Beer and 0% partner to help supply our 4x weekend festivals series in London this Summer. 6,000+ participants, mainly 18-34 and 65% female. We generate millions of views per month across our IG and are partnered with some of the world leading brands across nutrition, entertainment, and racing. We have also seen the benefit of partnering with start-ups having engaged with a successful 2 year partnership with PerfectTed and now Eleat for 2026. Previously we have worked with On, Asics, Adidas and HOKA all on repeat business, and once with New Balance also. Our event won Most Innovative Event 2024, Best Small Event 2024, and Rising Star in 2023. We have featured in Men’s Health, Runners World, multiple news papers, Radio 5Live, LadBible, SecretLondon + many more, along with many organic posts from large social media personalities (Dua Lipa, Davina McCall, Peggy Gou). We have our bar units, staff, and licensing for alcohol sales for the drinks partners, and we have space within the site for Branding/Activations. If this is something that might be interesting to a brand you own or know, please tag and make any introductions to the drinks industry as I am actively hunting a drinks brand as we speak. Equally please pop me a message if you’d like to speak about other sponsorship opportunities.

“Londons worst ultra” is our best selling event so far of the year. Giving people the opportunity to run a monotonous 50k chip timed race for 20 of the most boring laps in ultra running history. It’s the worst ultra by traditional standards; no beautiful mountains, forests, or luxurious or beautiful landscapes. However by other measures it is arguably the best; the most affordable, closest to home, completely flat, super fast, access to support all course round, a fuel/rest spot every 2.5km, and then you just get the tube home once you’ve finished. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all. Surrounding the run is our FNL festival format catering for up to 1,500 people to follow up their 10k, Halfy, Mara or Ultra with one of our parties going into the night. This is just the first step of the transition of Friday Night Lights having ridden on the back of our own coattails for a while now. One of our strengths has been working with the best people in the industry. We have managed to amass a few absolute stonkers together so far for this event with a one or two more to add. Tickets are out now and if you’d be interested in giving yourself the opportunity to run in the worst ultra marathon in London then take a look. We are also looking for a 1x lead sponsor to help elevate this event to the next level. If you’re interested to find out more please pop me a DM directly.

Most Innovative Event at the Running Awards in front of 350 of industry leaders?? Crap imported FNL merch?? Nervous smile?? Check, check, check. Genuinely caught off guard having to go and collect an award on behalf of our entire community and team for our event. To be recognised as the most innovative running event and hearing some of the lovely things being said about our group from the people at the very top of the industry is absolutely gob smacking. From starting last Summer from nothing, being a nobody, and not having any experience in hosting events to being where we are now. When I get moment to do, it will be a lovely time to reflect on what our group has achieved. The whole Running Industry Conference started with a surprise when one of the presenters was talking about the most significant things happening in running in 2024, and the Paris Olympic’s was being talked about in the same sentence as Friday Night Lights. Charlie = stoked, mind = blown. The scary thing is, I don’t feel like any of the events we have done yet are remotely close in levels of innovation or quality to what I can see inside my head. Maybe that’s a good thing? Perhaps it’s a bad. Let’s wait and see. 2025 will be an interesting year for our community. There is no doubt in my mind it will end either in fireworks or a big ball of fire. We will continue to take huge risks putting every thing we have into every thing we do, pushing on all fronts all the time all at once. We’ll keep our blinkers on, look solely at ourselves, ignore the outside noise, and just keep pushing forwards doing our own thing in our own way. And you know what? Whichever way it goes; fireworks or fire ball, I’m okay with.

Consider me buzzed. Runners World big ol’ article on Friday Night Lights is a very cool addition to our list of places FNL has stumbled into. We’ll quieten down for 2 weeks off in December having pushed relentlessly hard on every single front for the last 18 months to build our brand and business, but once that 2 week break is done, we are full throttle back on the gas for 2025 with another complete level up of what we are doing. If you haven’t made it down to a Friday Night Lights mini-festival just yet don’t you worry as you’re in luck; we’ll be bringing the goods next Summer. Hold on to your hats.
